Mary V. Frizell
I, Thomas Smith of the State and County aforesaid have this day sold and do hereby convey unto Mary V. Frizell of the same State and County a certain piece or tract of land containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less lying and being in said County of Marion and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid the receipt hereof acknowledged. I covenant and warrant the title fee simple from myself, my heirs and every other person forever to the said Mary V. Frizell and her heirs and will defend the same in law or equity. Said land is bounded as follows viz: Beginning at a spanish oak then south to a stake on a line to the entry made in the name of John Baker thence with that line east to a black oak corner at the lower clift then north to a chesnut oak thence west to Richards line and with that line to a hickory corner near the spring thence west to the beginning, said lands is situated in the 3rd Civil District of said County of Marion.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 20th day of April A.D. 1868.

Personally appeared before me H. G. Blansett Clerk of the County Court of said County Thomas Smith Sr. The within named bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledges that he executed the within deed of conveyance for the purposes therin contained and expressed on the day it bears date.
