Obituary of Mary Belle Moree Whitener


SOUTH PITTSBURG -- Mary Belle Moree Whitener, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at a local nursing home. The daughter of the late Jess William and Nettie Pearl Long Chambers, she was a member of South Pittsburg Church of God. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Gordon Woodrow Moree and Ledger Grady Whitener; and one son, Bill Moree. She is survived by her children, Linda and Michael Foster of South Pittsburg, G.W. Jr. and Katherine Moree of Jasper; seven grandchildren, Mary Ann Moree, Woody Moree, Sandra Bailey, Eric Moree, Bob Moree, all of Jasper, Pamela Foster and Lisa Coffelt, both of South Pittsburg; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg at 1 p.m. CDT Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, with Rev. Arthur Thomas officiating. Interment at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. CDT today at the funeral home.
