FALL COLOR CRUISE AND FOLK FESTIVAL
Fall Color Cruise to Feature Stars of Bluegrass and The Grand Ole Opry.
The 2001 Fall Color Cruise and Folk Festival will be the biggest in years
featuring Ten of the biggest names from the Grand Ole Opry and Bluegrass. Event
chairman Bill Lord says that he is looking for record turnouts for the 33rd
annual edition of the Fall Color Cruise and Folk Festival. The 2001 event will
be held the last two weekends in October at Shellmound Park on Lake Nickajack in
Marion County. The Entertainment on the bill for the first weekend includes
Grand Ole Opry members The Osborne Brothers, Jim and Jesse, The Whites and The
Nashville Bluegrass Band. The second weekend will feature a Tribute to the Grand
Ole Opry with Opry members Jack Greene, Jeanne Seely, Ray Pillow, Stonewall
Jackson and special guest David Frizzell. Also featured will be a very special
performance of the nationally touring stage show "Missing You", a
tribute to Jim Reeves and Patsy Cline, for one show only on Saturday October
27th at 1:00 PM CDT. Of course there will be great food, crafts and children's
activities. Admission is free with donations accepted. To get to the Color
Cruise take I-24 to exit 158 at Shellmound Reservation on Lake Nickajack. The
Fall Color Cruise and Folk Festival is sponsored by Alhambra Shrine Temple of
Chattanooga.
