Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Mai Creasy, age 93, were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at the Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home with Rev. George Reed officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Eva Mai Creasy passed away on October 3, 2005 in Westmoreland, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Blonville Williams and the late Bertha Burnley Williams. She was united in marriage to the late J.W. Creasy. She was retired from the Genesco Corporation. Survivors include grandsons: Tony Creasy and Jamie Creasy of Westmoreland; granddaughters: Brenda Hudson of Castalian Springs, TN, Pamela Nunnelly of Glasgow, KY, and Maria Creasy of Westmoreland; and 12 great-grandchildren. Will T. Dixon, 80, of the Sycamore Valley Community and formerly of the Difficult Community, passed away Monday, October 3, 2005 at his residence. The Jackson County, Tennessee native was born Wednesday, April 1, 1925, a son of the late Aster E. "Boss" Dixon and Patsy Sircy Dixon, and was a retired farmer. On June 24, 1940 he was united in marriage to Gracie Lee West Dixon, who preceded him in death on October 8, 2004. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Gerald Donoho, of the Sycamore Valley Community; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Dixon, of the Difficult Community; 3 sisters, Lecta Pearl Sircy, Gainesboro, TN; Sally Bell Thomas, of the Gladdice Community; and Irene Cook, Hartsville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Charlotte Day, Allen Dixon, Timothy Dixon, Bridget Silcox, Cynthia Dixon, and Joseph Dixon; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Will John Dixon and Jerry Dixon, 3 brothers, Bedford Dixon, Hubert Dixon, and Ottis Dixon, and 4 sisters, Ann Woodard, Altie Mullinax, Nettie Scott, and Georgie Holmes. Funeral services for Will T. Dixon were conducted at 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Terry Austin and Eld. Wayne Gregory officiating. He was united in marriage to Martha Swift, who preceded him in death. He then married the late Marie Hannon. He was a WWII Veteran. Carrie Marie Leverett, 30, of the Carter Branch Community, was pronounced dead on arrival Sunday, October 9, 2005 at Macon County General Hospital from injuries in an automobile accident on Drury Ridge Road. The Davidson County, Tennessee native was born Thursday, May 1, 1975, and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Zack Leverett; 4 daughters, Cheyenne Leverett, Miah Leverett, Tyrhe Leverett, and Kila Leverett; a son, Kane Leverett, all of the Carter Branch Community; her parents, Christopher and Cathy Calvo, Smyrna, TN; her grandmothers, Delois Smallwood, Lebanon, TN; and Anne Calvo, Nashville, TN; a brother, Chris Calvo, of the Walter Hill Community; two sisters, Cheryl Calvo, of the Walter Hill Community; and Ce Ce Calvo, Nashville, TN. Her body will be cremated and memorial services will be conducted at 6 PM Wednesday at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Embry officiating. Betty Marr, 74, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Warren County, Kentucky native was born Thursday, September 17, 1931, a daughter of the late James Earl Cherry and Zelma Opal Gammon Cherry. She was a 1949 graduate of North Warren High School, a member of Smiths Grove United Methodist Church, attended Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette, TN, and Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN, and was a retired secretary for Tri-County Electric Membership Corporation. She was united in marriage on April 15, 1952 to Charles Robert “Pud” Marr, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2004. She is survived by a daughter and her boyfriend, Cindy Bray and Tim Myers; a son and his girlfriend, Doug Marr and Rita Wilburn; a grandson, Dustin Marr; and her step-mother, Foye Cherry, all of Lafayette, TN. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Douglas Marr. Velma Ruth Slayton, 68, of the Wixtown Community, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005 at her residence. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Tuesday, June 1, 1937, a daughter of the late Elmer Scruggs and Nellie Carver Scruggs. She was a homemaker and member of Miller’s Chapel General Baptist Church. On April 23, 1954 she was united in marriage to Denvil Slayton, who preceded her in death on September 11, 2003. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lucy Patterson, Westmoreland, TN; a brother, L. B. Scruggs, Indianapolis, IN; a grandson, Wyatt Lee Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, J. C. Scruggs and Forrest Scruggs, and 2 sisters, Emma Scruggs and Selma Lee Patterson. James E. White, Sr., 74, of Poland, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2005 at his residence. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born December 7, 1930, a son of the late Robert Horton White and Sara Etta Sloan White. He was a retired machinist for Buehler Corporation in Indianapolis, Indiana, a greenskeeper at Clover Meadows in Cloverdale, Indiana, and a member of Sons of the American Legion Post #281 in Cloverdale. He was united in marriage to Gladys Rittenberry White. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Rittenberry White, of Poland, IN; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Lois Elaine and Mitchell Vincent, Washington Court House, Ohio; Jane Annette and Richard Hinch, New Johnsonville, TN; and Rhonda Darlene White, Poland, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Anthony and Sheila White, Cloverdale, IN; a sister, Emma Jean Cothron, Lafayette, TN; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and John McKee, Greenwood, IN: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff and Karen Whitson, Bainbridge, IN; and Ron Whitson, Russellville, IN; her mother, Gracie Perdue Wooten, Bainbridge, IN; a sister and brother-in-law, Berdine and Tilmon Perdue, of the Underwood Community, and 5 grandchildren.
