Blane Brooks, 77, of the Midway Community in Allen County, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Allen County, Kentucky native was born Thursday, February 2, 1928, a son of the late Henry Edward Brooks and Delia Driver Brooks, and was a farmer. On December 10, 1945, he was united in marriage to Zelia Fred Driver Brooks, who preceded him in death on June 5, 2004. He is survived by 7 daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Larry Joe Wooten, of the Underwood Community; Charlene and Ronnie Holland, of the Kirbytown Community; Lisa and Mike Farley, of the Underwood Community; Shelia and Ronnie Shrum, Green Valley Community; Bobbie and David Bandy, of Akersville Road; Deborah and Marty Pedigo, of the Brattontown Community; Melinda and Terry Doss, of the Keystone Community; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Tommy and Erma Brooks, of the Midway Community; Tim and Cathy Brooks, Houston, Texas; and Tony Brooks, of the Midway Community; 2 brothers, Enoch Brooks, Scottsville, KY; and Henry Brooks, Lafayette, TN; a sister, Shirley Manion, Scottsville, KY; 13 grandchildren, Martin Wooten, Kevin (Jane) Wooten, Keenan Brooks, Nathan Brooks, Leslie (Chad) West, Natalie Kirby, Adam Bandy, Derek Pedigo, Holly Doss, Hanna Doss, Cody Farley, Ashley Brooks, and Hailey Brooks; and a great-granddaughter, Maggie Wooten. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Elaine Williams and Eloise Holliman. Funeral services for Blane Brooks were conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, October 14, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Barry Miller officiating. Burial was in Underwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Martin Wooten, Kevin Wooten, Keenan Brooks, Nathan Brooks, Adam Bandy, Derek Pedigo, and Cody Farley. Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN in charge of arrangements.
Virginia Lee Gregory Bryan, age 85, of Gallatin, TN passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2005. Services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Alexander Funeral Home with Bro. Guthrie Thompson officiating. Entombment was in the Memory Chapel Mausoleum. A native of Trousdale County, TN, She was the daughter of the late William T. Gregory and the late Vallen Parker Gregory. She was married to the late Lloyd W. Bryan. She is survived by a great nephew, William “Chum” Shrum (Wilda) of Lafayette, TN; great-nephew, Andy Shrum; great-nieces Vicki Cothron & Roxanne O’Hair; great-great nephews Josh O’Hair, Dawson Shrum, and Cody Cothron; and great-great niece Chelsea O’Hair.
Funeral services for Lovie Browning Hix, age 85, of the Milestown Community in Clay County, TN were conducted Thursday afternoon, October 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Kirk Dodson officiating. Pallbearers were Doug Browning, Stacey Browning, Reggie Hix, Michael Hix, Eugene Hix, Chris Hix, Jason Coons, Terry Browning, Glen Browning, and Shane Smith. Interment followed in the Leonard Cemetery. Mrs. Lovie Hix passed away Tuesday morning, October 11, 2005 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, KY. A native of Clay County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Neva Cherry Browning. On April 15, 1942, she was married to Moody Thomas Hix, who preceded her in death on December 19, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, Delbert, Irvin and Sherman Browning. She was a member of the Milestown Church of Christ and a homemaker. Survivors include: sons, Harold (Pat) Hix, Union Hill Community, Dennis (Sandra) Hix, Leonard Community; sister, Mae Browning, Hermitage Springs; granddaughters, Denise (Michael) Hix, Leonard Community, Lora (Jason) Coons, Moss; grandsons, Eugene (Penny) Hix, Moss, Reggie (Linda) Hix, Leonard Community, Chris (Regina) Hix, Moss; 9 great-grandchildren, Arrangements by the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

89, of Red Boiling Springs, TN were conducted Wednesday afternoon, October
19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral
Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Her grandsons
served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Mrs. McCarter passed away Monday morning, October 17, 2005 at the Macon
County General Hospital in Lafayette, TN. A native of Jackson County,
TN, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lizzie Johnson Evans. She
was married to Logan Fillmore McCarter, who preceded her in death on April
26, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Andrew and Joe
McCarter, sisters, Marie Hudson and Inez Caruthers, brothers, Dumas and
Robert Evans, son-in-law, Hardy Copas, daughter-in-law, Alease McCarter. She
was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.
Survivors include: daughters Dean (Jack) Copass, Ruth Copas, all of Moss,
Susie (Tim) Nichols, Red Boiling Springs; sons Truman (Bonnie) McCarter,
Lafayette, Willie McCarter, Red Boiling Springs, Herman (Wanda) McCarter,
Hermitage Springs, Johnny (Barbara) McCarter, Columbus, IN; sisters Lula
Belle Sheffield and Maudie Kirby, both of Red Boiling Springs, Josie
McCarter, Hartsville; brother Grover Evans, Tompkinsville, KY; 27
grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
