| John Carter Hamsley, 70, of Chickamauga, GA,
and a former resident of Lafayette, Tennessee, departed this life Sunday,
September 4, 2005 in a local hospital. He retired from Georgia Natural Gas
after 35 years of service. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of
Crawfish Springs Masonic Lodge. Mr. Hamsley was preceded in death by his
father, William Carter Hamsley and brother, Thomas Gilbert Hamsley.
Survivors include; his wife of 53 years, Betty Lou (Snider) Hamsley of
Chickamauga, GA., mother, Azalea (Thurman) Hamsley of Pulaski, TN., 2 sons
and daughter-in-law, Larry & Barbara Hamsley of Chattanooga, TN., Timmothy
Hamsley of Kensington, GA., sister, Doretha Turner of Frankewing, TN., 3
grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the
J. Avery Bryan Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes with Rev. Alan Goolsby
officiating. Graveside services will be at New Bethel Church Cemetery in
Lafayette, TN, Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 2:30 PM. The family will
receive friends at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN., from 11:00
AM to 2:00 PM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hutcheson

Knight passed away Monday morning, Sept. 5, 2005 at St. Thomas
Hospital in Nashville. A native of Macon County, TN, she was the
daughter of the late Robert and Mazelle Pearson Spivey. On April 9,
1950, she was married to Willis Lee Knight, who preceded her in death on
June 8, 1994. She was a supervisor for Cordell Hull Head Start with 28
years of service, member of Red Boiling Springs First Baptist Church,
member of Red Boiling Springs City Council from 1997-2005 and served as
Mayor of Red Boiling Springs from 1998-1999. Survivors include:
daughters, Landy Knight, Red Boiling Springs, Benita (Louis) Hudson,
Lafayette; son, Roger (Coby) Knight, Red Boilng Springs, TN; sisters,

Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, TN. Funeral services for Eugene Lewis, age 71,
of Hermitage Springs, TN, were conducted Monday afternoon, Sept. 5,
2005, 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home
in Red Boiling Springs with Kirk Dodson officiating. Pallbearers were
Matthew Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Wayne Benton, Robert Lewis, Doug Baldwin,
Ricky Benton and Frank Puitt. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son
Memorial Park. Eugene Lewis passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 3,
2005 at his residence. A native of Sumner County, TN, he was the
son of the late Barton and Oshie Copas Lewis. On August 6, 1973, he was
married to the former Danny Sue Ritter, who survives. He was preceded in
death by his son, Tony Lewis; sisters, Faye Travis, Bert Cole, Ray
Gilliam, Velma Benton; and brothers, Eulis and Bill Lewis. He earned his
certified Welding Degree from Hume-Fogg Vocational School in Nashville.
He was a welder and heavy equipment mechanic for TVA with 15 years of
service. He was a member of the Operating Engineers #369 Union and the
Church of Christ. Survivors besides his wife of 32 years include
sons, David (Patricia) Lewis, Chattanooga, Mark (Angela) Lewis, Pleasant
Shade, Barton (Kira) Lewis, Westmoreland; sisters, Inie Slater,
Greenbrier, Ann (Johnny) Edwards, Springfield, Sue Martin, Gallatin;
brothers, Paul (Evelyn) Lewis, Joe Lewis, all of Pleasant View, William
(Lois) Lewis, Whites Creek; granddaughters, Rebekah, Natalie and Maggie
Lewis, Kady Waller, Skylor Clark; grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Lewis.

| Carolyn Sue Ritchie, age 57, of Old Hwy. 31E,
Westmoreland, TN, passed away August 30, 2005. Funeral
services were held Friday, Sept. 2, 2 p.m. at Anderson & Woodard
Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Creasy officiating. Burial was in New
Hope Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Jiles W.
Hilton, Sr. and Frances M. Hannah Hilton. She was married to Jack
Ritchie of Westmoreland who survives. She was preceded in death by a
son, Jackie Ritchie. Other survivors besides her husband
include a son, Jiles Ritchie, Murfreesboro; grandson, Kody Thomas
Ritchie, Murfreesboro; brother, Bob Hilton, Westmoreland.

Bolton Rittenberry, age 85, of Gallatin, TN, were conducted
Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Anderson &
Anderson Funeral Home in Gallatin with Brother Rich Gipson and
Brother Robert Webb officiating. Brents Silcox, Randall Silcox,
Chris Rittenberry, Michael Gammons, Jeff Taylor and Matt Fisher

Gardens. Mrs. Thelma Bolton
Rittenberry passed away Saturday, Sept, 3, 2005 at Gallatin
Health Care in Gallatin. A native of Hart County, KY, she
was one of 13 siblings born to the late Harry Brents and Bertha
Florence Fred Bolton. She was married on November 27, 1937 to
the late Isom L. Rittenberry, who preceded her in death on
August 8, 1984. Besides her parents and husband, her sisters,
Doreen Savage and Beatrice Ward; brothers, Ernest and Billy
Bolton and an infant brother preceded her in death. She was a
homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in
Gallatin. Survivors include two children: Betty (Billy)
Gammons, Gallatin, Bertha Taylor (Gene) Tucker, Castalian
Springs, Janet (Lee) Woodard, Bethpage, Debbie (Charles) Silcox,
Gallatin, Pat (Larry) Moore, Gallatin, Donna (Charles) Skaggs,

| Jo Walrond, age 71, of the
Hillsdale Community, passed away Friday evening, August 26,
2005 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette,
Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born
Friday, June 1, 1934. She was a homemaker and member of
Meadorville Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived
by her husband, Wayne Walrond, of the Hillsdale Community; 2
daughters and a son-in-law, Karen and Kenny Kemp, of the
Hillsdale Community; and Sharon Walrond, Lafayette, TN; her
mother and step-father, Earline and William Peskoran,
Cleveland, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, Aubrey Kemp and Catherine
Kemp. She was preceded in death by her father, Graves
Meador, and her grandparents, Jim and Ella Meador.
Funeral services for Jo Walrond were conducted at 2:00 PM
Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home
Chapel with Eld. Ricky White and Eld. Michael Brawner
officiating. Burial was in Meadorville Cemetery. Pallbearers
