| Funeral services for Naomi House Grissom, age
83, of White House, formerly of the Union Camp Community in Lafayette, were
conducted Thursday afternoon, Aug. 11, 2005, 2:00 p.,m. from the chapel of
Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with E.C. Meadows
officiating. Her nephews served as pallbearers. Interment was in Anderson &
Son Memorial Park. Mrs. Noami Grissom passed away Monday, August 8,
2005 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. A native of Macon
County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Bedford and Tennie Hudson
House. On April 13, 1943, she was married to Rupert Herald Grissom, who
preceded her in death on April 11, 1993. She was also preceded in death by
her sisters, Laura Ferrell, Merline Cassetty, Jewell Meador; brothers,
Burnest and Ernest House. She was a homemaker, teacher's aid, factory worker
and a member of Willette Church of Christ. Survivors include: son,
Gary (Dorothy) Grissom, White House; grandsons, Bryan (Amy) Grissom, White
House, Scott (Candy) Grissom, Nashville, Joshua (Valarie) Grissom,
Hendersonville; two great-grandchildren; sister: Inez Pitcock, Nashville.

| Funeral services for Elwyn "Dudie" Halsell,
age 66, of the Moss Community in Clay County, were conducted Wednesday
morning, Aug. 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson
& Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with E.C. Meadows officiating.
His family and friends served as pallbearers. Interment was in
Clementsville Cemetery. Dudie passed away Sunday evening, August
14, 2005 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs. A native of Monroe
County, KY, he was the son of the late Ben and Effie Wood Halsell. He
was also preceded in death by sisters, Beulah Warren and Nadene Cropper;
brothers, James, Buford, Nemo and Pat Halsell. He was a former employee
with Superior Coach in Lima, Ohio with 25 years of service.
Survivors include daughter: LaVon (Jeff) Swindle; son, Benjamin Halsell,
III, all of Red Boiling Springs; sisters: Pauline Proffitt, Celina,
Rachel Norris, Louisville, KY, Mary Hullinger, Lima, Ohio; brothers,
Frank (Avos) Halsell, Moss, Bob (Jean) Halsell, Jumbo, Ohio;
granddaughters, Stephanie (Jon Mickel) Clemons, Glasgow, KY, Kristy
(Andrew) Cline, Elizabeth Swindle, all of Lafayette; three

Graveside services were conducted for Damien Xavier Leach, age 6
months, of Westmoreland on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at
Harpeth Hills Cemetery in Nashville. Damien Leach passed away
Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Damien Leach was born February 9, 2005 in Davidson County, the son of
William Daniel Leach, Sr. and Shillie Ann Abston, who survive. Besides
his parents, he is survived by brother, William Leach, Jr., Nashville;
grandparents, Sarrah Powers, Westmoreland, Ronald Abston, Mitzi Abston,
both of Nashville, Jerry Leach, Lebanon; great-grandparents, Marilyn
Watson, Westmoreland, Helen Oldham, Lafayette, TN; step-grandparents,
Teri Powers, Westmoreland, Minnie Abston, Nashville. Arrangements

| Ms. Kathy Franklin Moss, age 41, of
Gainesboro passed away Tuesday evening, August 9, 2005 at Cookeville
Regional Medical Center. Services were conducted by Bro. Jeff
Burton from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial
followed the 1:00 p.m. service in the Gene Butler Cemetery in the
Gladdice Community. Ms. Moss was the daughter of the late
Lonnie B. Franklin, who died on May 18, 1984 and Cloe Lucille
Thompson Franklin, who died August 8, 2001. She was a member of the
Class of 1981 at Jackson County High School. She had attended the
Church of Christ. She was formerly employed as a nursing assistant.
Surviving is a son, Kevin Moss of Gainesboro; four sisters, Carnell
Climer of Elmwood, Janie Creswell, Lebanon, Patricia Montgomery of
Knoxville and Vickie Allen of Cookeville; five brothers, L.B.
Franklin of Tanglewood, Larry Franklin of Funns Branch, Clyde
Franklin of Funns Branch, Glenn Franklin of Gainesboro and Stanley
Franklin of Brush Creek; the father of her son, David Moss of

| Elder Johnnie Proffitt, 100, of
Lock Seven Community in Watervale, Smith County, died Friday
morning, August 12, 2005 at Carthage General Hospital.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 from the
Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home with Sis. Linda
Barnes, Sis. Sue Hutchinson and Elder Lewis Sandlin officiating.
Burial followed the 3:00 p.m. service in Smith County Memorial
Gardens. Born on Jan. 3, 1905 in the Maggart Community of
Smith County, he was the son of the late Alex and Mary Louise
Tennessee Vance Proffitt. Elder Proffitt was preceded in
death on April 24, 1986 by his wife, the former Fannie Myrtle
Christian, whom he had wed on October 4, 1925. He was also
preceded in death by two daughters, Ardelia Proffitt who died as
an infant and Marie Hensley, who died on Sept. 26, 2001.
Elder Proffitt was a farmer and a Pentecostal Pastor for 65
years. He pastored his first church in Hartsville and
established churches in Lebanon and Rock Springs. He also
pastored churches in Hickman, Flat Rock and Smithville. He was a
member of Harbor of Love Chapel. Surviving are a daughter
and son-in-law, Alyne and Bud Smith of Lock Seven; son and
daughter-in-law, Robert and Paula Proffitt of Lock Seven; foster
son & daughter-in-law, James and Martha Sanders of Watervale;
nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five
great-great-grandchildren. Sanderson of Carthage,
