Calvis Cox, 79, of 2502 Holland Road, Scottsville, KY, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at his residence. The Allen County, KY native was a retired employee of North Central Telephone and attended New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Boy Cox and Beatrice Bradley Cox and husband of the late Lavenia Lois Jones Cox. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Carolyn Cox and Larry and Barbara Cox, all of Scottsville, KY; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nell and William Holland and Judy and Michael Patrick, all of Scottsville; one brother, James Willard Cox, Scottsville; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Michael Cox and Bobby Cox.  Funeral services for Calvis Cox were conducted Friday, January 28, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at Goad Funeral Home with burial in Haysville Cemetery.

Mrs. Dorothy Mai Draper, age 77, of N. First St., Westmoreland, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005.  Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, 2 p.m. at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland, conducted by Bro. Elvis Farley. Burial was in Drury Cemetery.  She was the daughter of the late Lee Kiger and Elizabeth Thomas. She was married to Billy Driver who also preceded her in death. She was retired from Phil Crutcher Company.  Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Jane Biggs, Charlotte, TN, Pam Sanders, Adolphus, KY; one sister, Marie Sweet of Ann Arbor, Michigian; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.  Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland in charge of arrangements.

Opal Barnfield Dickens, age 88, of Lafayette, were conducted Wednesday, January 26, 2005, 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Glenn Brawner officiating. Pallbearers were Billy Barnfield, Jr., Hal Ballou, Paul Ballou, James Willie Dickens, Kyle Mason, and Matt Gorman. Interment followed in Anderson & Son Memorial Park.  Order of the Eastern Star services were held Tuesday evening, January 25, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. at the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home.  Opal Dickens passed away Monday, January 24, 2005, at Macon County General Hospital.  A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Luster and Viola Ellis Barnfield. She married Vester Dickens on September 23, 1933, who preceded her in death on December 12, 1994. She was preceded in death by son, Numon Dickens; grandson, Jeff Shaw; sisters, Lorell Gann and Laura Ballou; and brothers, Cordell and Donald Barnfield. She was retired from Western Electric in Indianapolis, IN, where she worked on the assembly line. She was a member of Old Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Lafayette Order of the Eastern Star No. 379, and the Lafayette Rebecca Lodge No. 10.  Survivors include daughter-in-law, Babara Crowe Dickens of Lafayette; two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.B. and Mary Lou Barnfield, R.V. Bobby Dennis Driver, 66, of Glasgow, Kentucky, died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was born in Holland, Kentucky on January 15, 1939 and moved to the Temple Hill Community of Barren County in 1951. He graduated from Temple Hill High School and was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He was a 1964 graduate of Western Kentucky University where he played baseball all four years and was a member of the "W" Club. During the season of 1964, he was the acting assistant baseball coach. As a result of his love of sports, he became a high school coach. At Hiseville he coached football, J V basketball, and boyâs track and also starting his teaching career. He later taught and coached at Glasgow High School and Allen County-Scottsville High School. While at Allen County-Scottsville High School he started the first varsity football team. He ended his 30 year teaching and coaching career at Glasgow Middle School where he taught social studies and coached 8th grade football and girls basketball. He was an umpire for the Glasgow Recreation Department during summer months and also played for the Groce Oil softball team and the American Legion Baseball Team.  He was a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ in Glasgow.  He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Betty Smith Driver, a native of Macon County, Tennessee; 1 son, Brian Driver and his wife, Misty, of Glasgow, KY; one grandson; 2 sisters, Margie White and husband George, of Temple Hill, KY; and Mary Ann Nunn, and husband Carroll, of Glasgow, KY; an aunt, Dorotha Fishburn and husband, Billy, of Lafayette, TN; 2 sisters-in-law, JoAnn Birdwell and husband, Ronald, of Lafayette, TN; and Christine Staggs and husband, George, of Waverly, TN.  Funeral services for Bobby Dennis Driver were conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 30, 2005 at A. Mr. Hagar Lee Farley, age 85, of Hartsville, TN, died Sunday morning, Jan. 23, 2005 at Smith County Memorial Hospital.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dortch Farley, Hartsville; two step-sons, Henry Halliburton and Danny Halliburton, both of Hartsville; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one step-great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Scruggs, Hartsville.  Funeral services were held at Willard Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, 1 p.m., conducted by Elder Dewayne Gregory and Elder Kenneth Woodall. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Scruggs, Jackie White, George Reece, and Mr. Patterson; active pallbearers were Brad & Tommy Halliburton, Scottie Cox, Jason & Don Veatch, Josh Johnson and Randall & Marty Summers. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.  Anthony Funeral Home in Hartsville was in charge of arrangements.

Justin Tyler Franklin, age 5, of the Kempville Community passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 25, 2005 at Monroe Carroll Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.  Elder Charles Jones officiated at the 3:00 p.m. services on Friday, January 28, 2005 from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial was in Gene Butler Cemetery.  He was born at Smith County Memorial Hospital on May 4, 1999, the son of Aelisha Lynn Franklin Butler and Jesse Dale Butler of Kempville. He attended pre-school at Carthage Elementary School.  Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Madison Hopper of Kempville; brothers, Jacob Butler of Carthage, Dylan Gibbs of Kempville; grandparents, Stanley and Janet Franklin of Brush Creek, Connie and Jimmy Curtis of Kempville, Roger and Melanie Butler of Graveltown Community; great-grandparents, Clifton and Ethel Givens of Kempville, and Jessie Butler of Defeated Creek.  Sanderson of Kempville, directors.

Ted Thome, age 56, of North Springs Community of Jackson County, were conducted Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with E.C. Meadows officiating.  Ted Thome passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at Crawfordsville, Arkansas.  A native of Spokane, Washington, he was the son of Robert (Nora) Thome, Wilsonville, OR and Catherine (David) Aaron Currie of Bay Minette, AL. He married the former Susan Norbert on Dec. 3, 1991, who survives. He was a self-employed nuclear engineer and a Vietnam veteran.  Survivors besides his parents and wife include sons, Mike Lane and Hunter Thome, both of the North Springs Community; sisters, Joree (Bill) Oneal, Oliver Springs, TN, B.J. Juel Stone Tomlin, age 80, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Lafayette, TN were conducted Tuesday afternoon, February 1, 2005 from the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Terry Austin officiating. Honorary Pallbearer was Jerry Scurlock. Active Pallbearers were Wayne Hesson, Mike Hesson, Kevin Wooten, Steve Clayborne, Carl Haile, Bobby Cherry. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.  Juel passed away Sunday evening, January 30, 2005 at the Stone Crest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN.  A native of Jackson County, TN, the daughter of the late Ernest and Ruby Stone Jenkins. She was an assembly worker for the former Carter's Automotive Corporation in Lafayette and a Member of the Church of Christ.  Survivors include, sons, Richard Tomlin, Murfreesboro, Mike (Jill) Tomlin, grandsons, Matt & Mitch Tomlin, all of  Lafayette.  Arrangements by the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Lafayette, TN.

Mrs. Bessie Wilmore, age 82, of Wilmore Lane in Pleasant Shade died Sunday morning, Jan. 30, 2005 at Mariner Health Care in Lebanon following a long illness.  Services were conducted by Elder James Thomas Gibbs and Elder Charles Allen Gentry on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Following the services, burial was held in Pleasant Shade Cemetery.  Mrs. Wilmore was married in Bowling Green, KY on Feb. 2, 1946 to I.H. Wilmore of Pleasant Shade.  Born Bessie Elizabeth Jones in the Sycamore Valley Com-munity of Smith County on Nov. 1, 1922, she was one of three children of the late Hugh and Myrtle Watson Jones. Twin brothers preceded her in death, Ray Jones on April 28, 1974 and Raymond Jones on Dec. 16, 1998. She was employed at the former Carthage Shirt Corporation for over 30 years from 1963 until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Shade.  Surviving in addition to her husband of almost 59 years is a daughter, Marilyn Wilmore Johnson and husband Joe of Brentwood.  Sanderson of Carthage, directors.

Ethel Bilbrey Witcher, age 70, of the Rose Hill Community were conducted Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, 2 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with E.C. Meadows and Gene Carter officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Brockett, Danny Gentry, Jared Gentry, Nick Gentry, Kent Smith, Lanny Hudson and Brian Massey. Active pallbearers were Ed Pharris, David Andrews, Dwight Bilbrey, Derik Bilbrey, Doug Dennis, Eldon Witcher, Jr., Terry Bilbrey and Brian Richardson. Interment followed in the John L. Clark Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN.  Ethel Witcher passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 at her daughter's residence in Gallatin.  A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Gladys Trisdale Bilbrey. She married Carl Eugene (Gene) Witcher on May 15, 1949 who preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1993. She was preceded in death by sons, Gerald Lee and Terry Lynn Witcher; brother, George Ray Bilbrey; brother-in-law, Nelson Pharris; granddaughter, Tracey Allison Colter; and nephew, Phillip Pharris.  Ethel Witcher was retired from Red Boiling Springs High School where she worked as a cook. She was a member of Bakerton Church of Christ.  Survivors include daughters, Louise (Danny) Bunt, Gallatin, TN, Wanda (Jamie) Holmes, Red Boiling Springs; son, Michael (Deb) Witcher, New Castle, IN; sisters, Edith Pharris, Red Boiling Springs, Pauline (Jack) Andrews, Tracy City, TN, June (Benton) Massey, Red Boiling Springs; brothers, Roy Bilbrey, Lafayette, Wayne (Joyce) Bilbrey, Red Boiling Springs; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, TN.
