Junior Browning, age 80, of 3307 Mack Bean Road, Red Boiling Springs, TN, were conducted Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Gary Wilder officiating. Pallbearers were Ricky Browning, Michael Browning, Todd Browning, Jason Browning, P.J. Browning, and Jamie Browning. Interment was in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.  Junior Browning passed away Friday morning, Jan. 14, 2005 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.  A native of Clay County, he was the son of the late Press and Beulah Cherry Browning. On January 22, 1944, he was married to the former Jenever Adell West, who preceded him in death on January 16, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Delno Jenkins, Ona Lee Young, Creola Browning; brothers, Orville, Argo, Dumas, Buster, Claude and Dewey (Kit) Browning. He was a heavy equipment owner and operator for 17 years, served as Clay County Road Supervisor for 12 years, was a farmer and member of Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.  Survivors include sons, Dwight (Ann) Browning, Bethpage, TN, Stanley (Jenny) Browning, Gallatin, Wayne (Sandrea) Browning, Roy (Carlene) Browning, and Lonnie Browning, all of Red Boiling Springs, Jackie (Kathleen) Browning, Moss, TN; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

Violet Mae Goad, 75, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Friday, January 14, 2005 at Gallatin Health Care in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Toledo, Ohio native was born Wednesday, May 29, 1929 a daughter of the late Erwin Stoneburner and Helen Betts Stoneburner. She was a member of Waltons Chapel Church of Christ and a greeter at Wal-Mart in Lafayette.  She is survived by 3 daughters, Connie Dallas, Apex, North Carolina; Ruth Shockley, and Pagean Goad, both of Lafayette, TN; 2 sons, John Keller and Richard Keller, both of Lafayette, TN; 6 step-children that she raised; 2 brothers, Butch Stoneburner, Toledo, Ohio; and Dick Stoneburner, of Florida; a sister, Pat Stoneburner, of Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 sisters.  The body was cremated. Memorial services for Violet Mae Goad were conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Frank Fox officiating. Burton Eugene Hanvey, Sr., 62, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2005 at his residence. He was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church.  He is survived by his wife, Helen Johnson, Mt. Juliet, TN (a Macon County, TN native); sons, Gene and Brian Hanvey; daughters, Junette Brown, Delon Holmes, and Nicki Hanvey; eight grandchildren.  Funeral services for Burton Eugene Hanvey, Sr. were conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Bond Memorial Chapel in Mt. Juliet with Dr. Vincent Walkup and Ted Denney officiating. Interment followed in Macon County Memorial Gardens in Lafayette at approximately 2 PM. Pallbearers were Carol Hall, Pat Nestor, Steve Perk, Shawn McBrien, Josh Hanvey, Tommy Coble, Michael McPherson, and Richard Coble.  Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of local arrangements.

Janet Key, Longtime Monoville, TN resident, Mrs. Janet Key, age 82, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 12, 2005 at Smith County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  Services were conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Homoe on Saturday, Jan. 15, by Bro. Jimmy Gregory and Bro. Paul Oldham. Burial following the 1:00 p.m. services was in Dixon Springs Cemetery.  Mrs. Key was married Sept. 22, 1946 in Bruceton, TN to Thomas David "Tommy" Key of Monville.  Born Sarah Janet Coleman on August 15, 1922 in Glenwood in Laurens County, Georgie, she was one of two children of the late Homer Herbert and Irma Mae Freeland Coleman.  A brother, Milton Coleman, preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2003.  She was a May 1940 graduate and valedictorian of Laurens County High School. She was a member of Peyton Creek Baptist Church in Monoville. Shew as employed at Texas Boot in Hartsville from 1963 to 1973 when she started employment with Robertshaw in Carthage where she worked until her retirement in 1994.  Surviving in addition to her husband of 68 years are six children, Dr. Larry Key and wife Jenna of Lafayette, Sherry Shepherd of Monoville, Sandra Garrott of Mt. Juliet, David Key and Jeffrey Key, both of Monoville, Michael Key of Mt. Juliet; sister-in-law, Ann Coleman of Macon, GA; special caregiver, Hilda Taylor; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Sanderson of Carthage, directors.

Gilbert E. Linneweh, age 88, of Westmoreland, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2005. Gilbert E. Linneweh was the son of the late Henry and Amanda Mailing Linneweh. He was united in marriage to the late Dorothy E. Scheskie Linneweh and was retired from the Arlington Heights School District.  Survivors include daughters Lonna Joseph of Phoenix, AZ and Mary Conrick of Cottontown, TN; brother Herbert Linneweh of Mt. Prospect, IL; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services for Gilbert E. Linneweh were held Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from the Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Lassie M. Perdue, 82, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away early Sunday morning, January 16, 2005 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Tuesday, April 4, 1922 a daughter of the late Charlie Perdue and Lula Lillian Shrum Perdue. She was a member of Waltons Chapel Church of Christ and a retired sales clerk at Dollar General Store in Lafayette.  She is survived by an aunt, Ercie Gettings, Franklin, KY; several cousins, close friends, and neighbors. Funeral services for Lassie M. Perdue were conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette with Frank Fox and Steve Peeler officiating. Burial was in Macon County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Johnny Sircy, Keith Sircy, Teddy Brawner, Steve Cothron, Kenny Childress and Billy Roark.  Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.

Darrell Edwin Rippy, age 53, of Keen Hollow Road, West-moreland, passed away Monday, January 10, 2005.  Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, 1 p.m. at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland with Bro. Larry Emery and Bro. Howard Welch officiating. Burial was in Fairfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brandon Rippy, Josh Rippy, Danny Brooks, Daniel Thornton, Roer Lambert, Howard Brown and Jerry Denning.  He was the son of the late Edwin Rippy and Elizabeth Keen Rippy. He was married to Glenda Fowler Rippy of Westmoreland, who survives.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Rippy; brother, Dewain Rippy; and grandson, Jonathan Brooks.  Survivors besides his wife include daughters, Terri (Danny) Brooks, Portland, Angela (Daniel) Thornton, Westmore-land; three grandchildren; two brothers, David (Judy) Rippy, Portland, Michael (Traci) Rippy, Castalian Springs; one sister, Delilah (Freddy) Troutman, Westmoreland.  Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland in charge of arrangements.

Bill Siddens, age 37, of Bethpage, passed away Monday, January 10, 2005.  Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 14, 1 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Joe Stinson officiating.  He was the son of the late William Boyd Siddens, Sr. and Karen Sue Whitefield. He was married to Tina Siddens of Bethpage, who survives.  Survivors besides his wife include a daughter, Kristen Michelle Siddens of Lafayette; a step-daughter, Daniela Elizabeth Greer, Bethpage; a brother, Brian (Lisa) Sidens, Chesapeake, VA; two half-brothers, Teddy Siddens and Mike Allen, both of Gallatin.  Alexander Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Louis Morgan Steen, age 75, passed away December 29, 2004. He was a member of Hermitage Church of Christ, Mr. Steen was an Engineer and retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Rogers Group. He was preceded in death by his father Willard Steen.  He is survived by wife: Mary Steen, son, Todd Steen, daughter Donna Edwards, granddaughter, Brittany Steen, grandson, Jacob Steen, mother, Stella Steen, brother Fred Steen and sister Elizabeth Oldham.  Services were held December 31, at Hermitage Funeral Home with Brother Phil Barnes officiating. Interment Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Todd Steen, Jacob Steen, Richard Turner, Bill Edwards, George Wilkins, Cecil Cook, Rick Turner, and Braden Henson. Honorary Pallbearers present and past employees of the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Rogers Group, Elders and Deacons of the Hermitage Church of Christ. 

Carla Renee Wilcox, age 39, of Chipman Road, Bethpage, TN, passed away January 15, 2005.  Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Glenn Creasy. Burial was in Roberts Tabernacle Cemetery.  She was the daughter of Rev. William Wilcox and Frankie Wilcox of Bethpage. She was a member of Hartsville Church of God of Prophecy.  Survivors besides her parents include two sons, Alexander Williams and Cody Ipock, both of Bethpage; brothers, Tony (Margaret) Wilcox of Bethpage, Bruce (Misty) Wilcox of Crab Orchard, TN; two nieces, Ashlee & Merigrace Wilcox.  Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland was in charge of arrangements.

 

Jana York, 17, of Lafayette, Tennessee, was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tennessee. She was born Friday, December 4, 1987 in Midwest City, Oklahoma, was a junior at Macon County High School and was employed at Krystal in Lafayette.  She is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Candy York; 3 sisters, Jamie York, her twin sister, Jennifer York, and JayCee York; her grandmother, Novice York, all of Lafayette, TN; her grandfather, Bill Robertson, Red Boiling Springs, TN; 2 uncles, Steve Rhea, Moore, Oklahoma; Clifton York and his wife, Janice; an aunt, Lisa Sircy and her husband, Johnny, all of Lafayette, TN; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, J. C. York, and a grandmother, Loraine Robertson.  Funeral services for Jana York were conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 13, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Terry Austin officiating.  Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, Tennessee was in charge of arrangements.
