Dr. Frank Ferrell Bellar, Sr., 80, of Lafayette, Tennessee, retired veterinarian, passed away Monday, July 11, 2005 at his residence. A son of the late Johnnie and Leonard Bellar of Smith County, Tennessee, he was born Sunday, November 9, 1924. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Luanne Bellar.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Reba; daughter, Diana Verlain, Key West, Florida; sons Frank Ferrell Bellar, Jr. (Linda), Cookeville, TN; Jim Bellar (Kathy), Nashville, TN; grandchildren Tye Bellar, Aza Bellar, and Mya Bellar, all of Nashville, TN; Frank Ferrell Bellar III (Trey), Nashville, TN; Jonathan Bellar, Cookeville, TN; special aunt and uncle, J.K. and Margaret Ferrell, Lebanon, TN; special aunts, Ruby Law, Lila Nixon, Crossville, TN; and several cousins.  A native of Smith County and a graduate of Carthage High School, Dr. Bellar received a B.S. degree from Tennessee Tech University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University in 1957. He established a veterinary practice in Macon County that would last for 40 years and was well known in surrounding counties.  He was an avid historian, especially the Civil War, loved wildflowers, wildlife, birds, and the Tennessee countryside. He was a great fan of horseracing, a practical joker and storeyteller, loved sports, and flying airplanes. He owned and flew planes much of his life and in 1945 flew one under the Carthage bridge.  He was a life member of the American Veterinary Association, the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, and a charter member of the Upper Cumberland Veterinary Medical Association. He also served in the United States Air Force and graduated from pilots school in 1944.  Funeral services for Dr. Frank Ferrell Bellar, Sr. will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Cowan, Eld. Charles Allen Gentry, and Rev. Michael Welch officiating. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Donaldson, Dr. Phillip Kinslow, Teresa Johns, Garland Apple, Dewayne Apple, Shawn Carter, Kelly Carnahan, Kenneth Harris, Truman Holland, Henry Shook, James Chamber-lain, Doyle Gaines, and remembrance of four friends who preceded him in death, Glen Seaton, Anthony Carter, Ed Abney, and Charles Keisling. Active pallbearers will be Larry Tucker, Dr. Frank Fitzgerald, Jim Richard-son, Mayor Bill Wells, Henry Polston, Mary Tom Walker, Tye Bellar, Aza Bellar, Trey Bellar, Jonathan Bellar, and Mya Bellar.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorals be made to the Lafayette United Methodist Memorial Fund, 506 Bratton Avenue, Lafayette, TN; or Sumner Hospice, 512 East Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066. Frances "Sissy" Binion, 56, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Friday, July 8, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Richmond, Virginia native was born Tuesday, November 16, 1948, a daughter of the late Rufus Houston Smith and Lillian Spericen Smith, and was a former factory worker. On February 24, 1981, she was united in marriage to Gary "Peanut" Binion.  She is survived by her husband, Gary "Peanut" Binion, of Lafayette, TN; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Sherry Cauthorne, of Virginia; Charles and Kim Cauthorne, Hender-sonville, TN; Joe and Amanda Cauthorne, Lafayette, TN; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Joyce Smith, Gallatin, TN; a sister, Judy Binion, Lafayette, TN; a granddaughter, Haley Cauthorne.  Funeral services for Frances "Sissy" Binion were conducted at 3:30 PM Monday, July 11, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Lillie Mae Bledsoe, 93, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. The Shelbyville, Tennessee native was born July 3, 1912, a daughter of the late Joe Wiley Cunningham and Minnie Virginia Vann Cunningham. She was a homemaker and wife of the late Aaron Edward Bledsoe. She is survived by a sister, Sarah Ingram Klahn, of Arkansas; 2 grandsons, Joseph Bledsoe, Millersville, TN; and Jonathan Bledsoe, White House, TN; a great-granddaughter, Aliyah Hope Bledsoe, Millersville, TN; and several nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Howard Aaron ( Bob) Bledsoe and Joseph Miles (Rimp) Bledsoe, a daughter, Patricia Ann Bledsoe, 6 brothers, William C., Joseph W., C. Dayton, Otis E., Howard W., and Winston L. Cunningham, and 3 sisters, Katherine Shepherd, Ozella C. Barbee, and Lera V. Fowler.  Funeral services for Lillie Mae Bledsoe were conducted at 10 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Klahn officiating. Graveside services were held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. Kenny A. Carter, age 43, of Phillips Hollow Rd., Westmoreland, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2005.  He was the son of the late Bobby H. Carter and Peggy S. Graves Carter. Survivors besides his mother include sons: Brandon Carter, Dusty Carter, and Corey Carter, all of Westmoreland; and one brother: Kirk A. Carter of Westmoreland. He was a construction worker.  Funeral services for Kenny A. Carter were held Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Willie Leduc officiated. Visitation was Monday from 6-9, Tuesday from 10-9, and Wednesday from 10 until service time. Interment was in Bethpage Upper Cemetery.

Tesslynn Jade Dickson, the infant daughter of Troy and Vanessa Dickson, of Lafayette, was stillborn on Tuesday, June 28, at Gallatin Hospital. At birth she weighed 4 lbs. and 15 oz.  Graveside services for Tesslynn Jade Dickson were held Friday, July 1, at Browns Cemetery in Tompkinsville.  She is survived by her parents, Troy and Vanessa Dickson, one sister Tensley Dickson and a cousin Misty Gentry.

Glen Gregory 78, of the Haysville Community, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2005 at his residence. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Wednesday, December 8, 1926, a son of the late Gena Gregory and Bernist Mathis Gregory. He was a retired farmer, a member and deacon of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of Hillsdale Lodge #664 F.&A.M. On May 6, 1949, he was united in marriage to Quincy Ballou Gregory.  He is survived by his wife, Quincy B. Gregory, of the Haysville Community; 5 sons and 4 daughters-in-law, Robby and Carol Gregory, Lafayette, TN; Ricky and Judy Gregory, Lebanon, TN; Jeffery Gregory; Kelvin and Tina Gregory, Lafayette, TN; David and Laura Gregory, Portland, TN; a sister, Thelma Porter; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Virginia Gregory; Lillard and Faye Gregory; Ralph and Betty Gregory, all of Lafayette, TN; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Truman Gregory and a sister, Juanita Jones.  Funeral services for Glen Gregory were conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church with Eld. Donald Taylor and Eld. Terry Austin officiating. Burial was in Anderson Memorial Park. Hillis D. Herald, 65, of New Whiteland, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 4, 2005 at University Heights Convalescent Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born January 28, 1940 in Lafayette, Tennessee to Clifton Herald and Ozie Walrond Herald. He married Patsy Joyner Herald on February 3, 1962 in Lafayette, Tennessee. He was the superintendent of construction for Hunt Paving for 39 years, having retired in 2000. He was a member of Long Creek Missionary Church in Macon County, TN, and Franklin Masonic Lodge in Franklin, Indiana.  He is survived by his wife, Patsy Joyner Herald, 2 sons, Curtis and Gary Herald, both of Greenwood, Indiana; 1 daughter, Youvettia Smith, New Whiteland, IN; 1 sister, Melvin Prock, Lafayette, TN; 7 grandchildren, Nathan and Candace Smith, Heather, Casey, Brittany, Brooke, and Garrett Herald; 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, T. H. Herald and Kenneth Herald.  Graveside services for Hillis D. Corbit Harold Keen, age 91, of Pleasant Grove Road, West-moreland, TN, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2005.  Funeral services were held Friday, July 8, 1 p.m. at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Irv Ryder and Bro. Earl Thompson officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemtery.  He was the son of the late Sammie Keen and Minnie Cliburn. He was married to Bernice C. Cline who preceded him in death. He was a retired aircraft mechanic and member of First Baptist Church.  He is survived by two sons, James Maxey (Joyce) Keen, Friendsville, TN, Michael Danny (Sharon) Keen, Mulberry, TN; a sister, Vera Hauskins, Gallatin; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Phillip Roy Mandrell, 53, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2005 at T. J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on Tuesday, May 6, 1952, a son of the late Roy Mandrell and Lillie Meador Mandrell. He was a self-employed truck driver and a member of Oakdale General Baptist Church.  He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Eddie Wilson, Scottsville, KY; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny Lee and Margie Mandrell, Lafayette, TN; Michael and Jennifer Mandrell, Westmoreland, TN; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Carolyn Mandrell; Lisa and Ricky Dennis, all of Lafayette, TN; 2 grandchildren, Haley Wilson and Christian Wilson; a special aunt, Gertrude Wingate, Glasgow, KY.  Funeral services for Phillip Roy Mandrell were conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Francis Lillian Pitchford, 89, of Gallatin, Tennessee, and formerly of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Tuesday, January 4, 1916, a daughter of the late Hice Williams and Myrtle Oldham Williams. She was a homemaker, a member of Gallatin First Baptist Church, and wife of the late Elster "Fats" Pitchford.  She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Sally Pitchford; Wayne and Wei Pitchford; a daughter, Annette Reid, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; a brother, Raymond Williams, El Paso, Texas; 3 sisters, Dorothy Puckett and Pauline Draper, both of LaVergne, TN; and Joyce Hire, Indianapolis, IN; 4 grandchildren, Robin Reid, Rhonda (Bill) Nicoloff, Phillip Pitchford, and Amber Bailey; 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Georgia Nelson and Margie Meador, and 2 brothers, H. C. Williams and James Williams. Fred Louis Summers, age 74, of Stevens Drive, Westmoreland, passed away July 4, 2005. Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 7 at the Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Creasy officiating. Visitation was from 5-9 on Tuesday and 10-9 on Wednesday. Interment was at New Hope Cemetery.  He was the son of the late Cles Summers and the late Elsie Hauskins. He was united in marriage to Martha Perry Summers of Westmoreland, who survives. He was retired from GF Office Furniture and was a Korean War Veteran.  Survivors besides his wife include sons: Michael, Paul, Joe, and Jason Summers, all of Westmoreland; brothers: Everett and James Edward Summers, both of Westmoreland, Donald Summers of Greenbrier, and William Summers of Gallatin; sisters: Marie Mills of Atlanta, GA and Allie Mae Graves of Westmoreland; 4 grandchildren: Wesley, Issac, Samantha, and Savannah Summers, all of Westmoreland; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home, Westmoreland, Tennessee in charge of arrangements.

Benny White, 50, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2005 at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond, Indiana. He was born Tuesday, May 3, 1955 in Glasgow, Kentucky, was a United States Navy Veteran, a truck driver for J. and R. Trucking, and a member of Lafayette First Baptist Church. On August 18, 1976, he was united in marriage to Carolyn King White.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn King White; 2 daughters, Courtney White and Beth White, all of Lafayette, TN; his mother and step-father, Rosa Pearl and Willie C. Long, Westmoreland, TN. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Douglas White.  Funeral services for Benny White were conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, July 11, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Burial was in Macon County Memorial Gardens.
