Norman C. Carter, age 80, of Andrew Jackson Hwy. in Adolphus, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2005.  Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, 2005, 11 a.m. at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial was in Wolfe Cemetery.  He was the son of the late William Henry and Sadie Ray Carter. He was married to Margaret Daniels Carter of Adolphus, KY.  He is survived by good friend, Norine Fykes Hinton of Gallatin; three brothers, Clyde Carter of Gallatin, Dee Carter of Adolphus, KY, and Melton Carter of Bowling Green, KY; a sister, Hazel Parker of Gallatin.  Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Hazel Crague Collins, age 67, of Witcher Hollow Road, Red Boiling Springs, TN were conducted Monday, June 20, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Her family and friends served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery.  Hazel Crague Collins passed away Saturday afternoon, June 18, 2005 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.  A native of Macon County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Newton and Etta Young Crague. She was preceded in death by her son, Floyd Jimmy Newberry; and her brothers, James, Comas and Johnny Crague. She was a garment factory worker and a member of Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ.  Survivors include daughter, Cynthia Ann Young, Red Boiling Springs, TN.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

Henry H. Horton Davis, 76, of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, passed away Monday, June 13, 2005 at Cumberland River North Hospital in Celina, Tennessee. The Clay County, Tennessee native was born January 10, 1929, a son of the late William Jesse Davis and Mary Elizabeth Jackson Davis, and was a handyman.  He is survived by a brother, Frank Davis, Livingston, TN; 5 sisters, Lou Iva Rush, Red Boiling Springs, TN; Virgie Mufflin, Sparta, TN; Hallie Pearl Booher and Willie Grace Johnson, both of Livingston, TN; and Melba Allen, Pavo, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Truman Davis and a sister, Sarah Daniels.  Funeral services for Henry H. Horton Davis were conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery in Overton County.  Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mr. Ronnel Edward Gammon, age 66, of Mt. Vernon Road, Bethpage, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2005.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 22, 2005, 11 a.m. at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky White officiating. Burial was in Eulia Cemetery.  He was the son of the late Bethel and Angie Gammon. He was a retired bus driver.  Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Enlow of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Sonya Gammon of Auburn, KY; special friend, Annie Mae Anderson, Bethpage; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland in charge of arrangements.

 

Ray Gunter, 76, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Monday, June 13, 2005 at his residence. The Sumner County, Tennessee native was born October 22, 1928, a son of the late Carl Gunter and Zannie Montgomery Gunter. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of First Baptist Church in Westmoreland, and a retired Homelite salesman. On January 29, 1955 he was united in marriage to Annie Mae Kennedy Gunter.  He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Annie Mae Gunter; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Danny Evetts; Valerie and Gene Reid, all of Lafayette, TN; a son, Daniel Gunter, Wartburg, TN; a brother, James Gunter, Nashville, TN; a sister, Ruth Barnes, Nashville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Kellie Martin, Eric Reid, Lashelle Powell, Carl Reid, and Mandy Clemmons; 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Gray. Funeral services for Ray Gunter were conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Wheeler and Rev. James Wheeler officiating. Burial was in Macon County Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Major William H. McKinley, U.S.M.C. (Ret.), 68, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Monday, June 13, 2005 at Temple Terrace Hospice House in Tampa, Florida. The Lima, Ohio native was born Tuesday, February 9, 1937, a son of the late William E. McKinley and Evelyn Barter McKinley. He graduated from Lima Central in 1955, and later graduated with a bachelorās degree from the University of Missouri. In Lima he was very active in sports and the Y.M.C.A., was a member of the wrestling, swimming, and gymnastics teams. He retired from the United States Marine Corps after more than 23 years, served two tours in Vietnam, where he was a radar interceptor officer and aviation maintenance officer. Following his career in the Marines, he also retired from Lockheed Martin Aircraft and Logistics in Greenville, South Carolina as a personnel recruitment specialist. On July 3, 1994 he was united in marriage to Mary Fisher McKinley.  He is survived by his wife, Mary Fisher McKinley, Punta Gorda, Florida; 3 sons, George William (Maria) McKinley, of Ashland, Oregon; Major Marc William (Yvonne) McKinley, United States Army in Rolla, Missouri; and Eric Michael McKinley, Indian Harbour Beach, Florida; a step-daughter and her husband, Tonya Michelle and Air Force Tech. Sgt. Steven White, Orlando, Florida; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly Ann and Kenneth Arnold, Cairo, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, William Wallace McKinley, Abigail Grace McKinley, Brittany Carline Oberheim, and Caitlin Michelle White; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gus Taylor Fisher, Henry and June Fisher, Eugene and JoNell Fisher, Maynell and Donald Hargis, all of Lafayette, TN; Jerry Fisher, Hartsville, TN; and Rev. Kenneth and Doris Fisher, Scottsville, KY. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Douglas F. McKinley.  Funeral services for Major William H. McKinley were conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Charlie Patterson and Chaplain William Corley officiating. Joe Don Napier, 73, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2005 in Indianapolis. The Fountain Run, Kentucky native was born June 4, 1932, a son of the late Joseph and Bertha Temple Napier. He was a brick mason for F. A. Wilhelm company, and retired from Jim Batts Company in 1992. On April 19, 1952 he was united in marriage to Peggy Jean OāConnor Napier.  He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Peggy J. Napier; daughters, Paula D. (Brent) Witte; Dona J. (Dave) Adamson; Carol L. Metcalf; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brothers, James Harold (Joyce) Napier, Lafayette, TN; Carvill, Cornwell "Bud", Billy, Jimmy, and Danny Napier; sisters, Pauline Stinson, Lafayette, TN; Wilma White, Mildred Kringle, Barbara Wickwire, and Ferrell Western; a sister-in-law, Mildred Napier, Lafayette, TN; 3 step-brothers and 2 step-sisters. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Comas, Cordell, R. J. Terry Bruce Smith, age 45, of 735 Keytown Road, Portland, TN, died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at Sumner Regional Hospital in Gallatin from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident on Dobbin's Pike, Oak Grove, TN. The Gainesboro, TN native was a U.S. Army veteran and an employee of Dollar General Corporation. He was a son of the late John L. Smith and Barbara Ann York Smith of Portland, TN, who survives.  He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Smith, Portland, TN; three sons, Joshua Bruce Smith, Dwight Neal Smith and Kyle Bradley Smith, all of Portland; his mother, Barbara Smith, Portland; one brother, Dwight Smith, Portland, TN; four sisters, Nancy Maynard, Bowling Green, KY, Sherry Denise Johnson, Austin, KY, Suzanne Carver, Portland, TN, and Sonja Lynn Sloan, Lafayette, TN; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Rosemary Smith; and one niece, Lisa Carver.  Funeral services for Terry Bruce Smith were held Thursday, June 16, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at Goad Funeral Home with entombment in Restlawn Memory Gardens and Mausoleum in Franklin, KY. 

 

Judy Fay Clark Taylor, age 54, of Hightower Road, Westmore- land, TN, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2005.  Funeral services were held Sunday, June 19, 2005, 2 p.m. at Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home conducted by Bro. Ray Laffenburger. Interment was in Roberts Tabernacle Cemetery.  She was the daughter of the late Dennis Clark and Betty Jo Stamps Clark. She was married to Henry Taylor of Westmoreland who survives. He was a licensed LPN.  Survivors besides her husband include two sisters, Linda Mosley and Brenda Goad, both of Westmoreland. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daryl Clark.  Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland was in charge of arrangements.

 

Clarence Gray Veatch, 60, of Carthage Road, Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. He was born Saturday, January 27, 1945, in Jackson County, Tennessee, a son of the late Jack Veatch and Versie Bilbrey Veatch. He was a Missionary Baptist minister and carpenter. On March 22, 1989, he was united in marriage to Anna Louise Bartley Veatch.  He is survived by his wife, Anna Louise Bartley Veatch, Red Boiling Springs, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Belisza Veatch; Ronnie and Tonya Veatch, all of Lafayette, TN; and Adam Veatch, Red Boiling Springs, TN; a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, John Scott and Linda Pedigo, Lafayette, TN; 2 step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Michelle and Bobby Sullivan; Nickie and Chris Cliburn, all of Westmoreland, TN; 8 grandchildren; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Benton and Sue Veatch, Westmoreland, TN; Jack Jr. and Shirley Veatch, Muncie, IN; Garrett and Helen Veatch, New Haven, KY; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Ida McCall, Lafayette, TN; Betty Fox, Lebanon, TN; Nellie and Glenn Sullivan, of the Green Grove Community. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Billy Joe Veatch, Charles Veatch, John Veatch, William Veatch, and James Veatch.  Funeral services for Clarence Veatch were conducted at 4:00 PM Monday, June 20, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Mark Horton and Eld. Jimmy Cox officiating. Burial was in Clark Cemetery in the Goosehorn Community. Active pallbearers were Paul Sullivan, Darrell West, Matt Sutton, Mark Veatch, Jimmy McCall, and Stevie Veatch.
