Memorial services for Pauline West Bennett, age 79, a resident of The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, TN, were conducted Sunday, June 26, 2005, 2 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating.  Pauline West Bennett passed away Thursday evening, June 23, 2005 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs.  A native of Macon County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Estes and Bertha Wood West. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Fred, Frank, and Jesse D. West and three infant brothers. She was a hotel consignor for the Holiday Inn in Florida and a member of the Church of Christ.  Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Bennett, Lafayette, CO; sons, Dwight Bennett, Lynn, MA, Marvin Bennett, Orlando, FL, David and Michael Bennett, St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Bonnie West, Red Boiling Springs, Hazle Murphee, Topeka, KS; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

Funeral services for Harry Doyel Brockett, age 77, of the Russell Hill Community were conducted Friday, June 24, 2005, 2 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Gene Carter, Jack Honeycutt and Denton Ramsey officiating. Deacons of the Willette Church of Christ served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Patterson Cemetery in Pleasant Shade, TN.  Doyel Brockett passed away Wednesday, June 22 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.  A native of Macon County, TN, he was the son of the late Robert and Mattie Goad Brockette. He married the former Jean Thomas on November 4, 1955 who survives. He was preceded in death by son, Stephen Brockett; sisters, Zelma Gulley, Mabel Krantz; brothers, Carlos, Fred, Willard and James Brockett. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Carter Automotive in Lafayette where he worked as a set-up man and was a deacon at Willette Church of Christ.  Survivors besides his wife include: daughter, Deborah (Darrell) Collins, Pine Hill Community; sons, Ricky Brockett, Russell Hill Community, Jimmy Brockett, Red Boiling Springs, Harold (Sherry) Brockett, Red Boiling Springs; brother, Herbert (Estaine) Brockett, Nashville; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

 

Graveside services and interment for Russell Clay Clinard, age 80, a resident of The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, TN were conducted Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. from the Whitley Cemetery in Red Boiling Springs with Elder Don Curtis officiating. His family and friends served as pallbearers.  Russell Clay Clinard passed away Monday evening, June 20, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin.  A native of Robertson County, TN, he was the son of the late Ollie James and Mary Elizabeth Frazier Clinard. He was a World War II veteran and a retired security guard from Pinkerton Industries in Nashville.  Survivors include daughters: Judy (Tommy) Powell of Milton, FL, Mary (Rusty) Parsley of Pensacola, FL; sons: Charles, Gary, Terry and Jerry Clinard, all of Pensacola, FL; step-daughters: Joyce Rathbone of Enterprise, AL, Ann (Bob) Stewart, Lafayette; step-son: Ken (Darlyn) Waynick of Las Vegas, NV; sisters: Jean Cartwright of Nashville, TN, Sarah McFerrin of Kentucky; brother: Bill (Ethel) Clinard of Jackson, MI; five grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 29 step-great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and two step-great-great-grandchildren.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

 

Martha Frances Gore, age 83, of Hartsville, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2005.  Funeral services were held Sunday, June 19, 2005, 2 p.m. at Anthony Funeral Home in Hartsville with Bro. Johnny Trail officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenny Kemp, Ronnie Kemp, Jackie Kemp, Frankie Law, Vernon Chatman, Jr. and John B. Johnson.  Survivors include a son, Roger Gore; five daughters, Dorothy Chatman, Ruth (Bobby) Kemp, Miss Faye Gore, Deborah (James L.) Tomlinson, Judy (Bill) Law; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Jones Hicks. 

 

Doris Monajane LeMasters Hart, 63, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Friday, June 24, 2005 at her residence. The Indianapolis, Indiana native was born November 18, 1941, a daughter of the late Alton LeMasters and Sharlotta M. Kelly. She was a retired cook. On May 18, 1957 she was united in marriage to Turner Emery Hart.  She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Turner Emery Hart; 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Rose Haymaker and Alma and David Handlon, all of Lafayette; two sons and daughters-in-law: Howard and Cheryl Hart of Indianapolis, Indiana, Turner W. and Teresa Hart of Hartsville, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James Mains and a sister, Evelyn Kraning.  Funeral services for Doris Monajane LeMasters Hart were conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Elder Jerry Gammon officiating. Burial was in the Nelson McDonald Cemetery. Pallbearers were family and friends.  Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN in charge of arrangements.

 

Mr. Paul Holmes of Carthage died at the age of 60 on Wednes-day morning, June 22, 2005 at the Smith County Health Care Center following an extended illness.  Services were conducted by his pastor, Bishop Alvin Hitchcock, on Friday afternoon from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial following the 3:00 p.m. services was in the Dixon Springs Cemetery.  Born Paul Randle Holmes on December 12, 1944, he was one of thirteen children of the late William Jonah who died July 26, 1975 at the age of 69 and Ruby Estelle Sircy who died September 6, 1980 at the age of 68. A sister, Mazelle Albritton, preceded Paul in death as did a brother, J.P. Holmes. He was also preceded in death by an infant sibling.  Mr. Holmes was married November 15, 1970 to the former Nina Catherine (Cathy) Wise. Before being injured in a forty foot fall on November 11, 1967 in Wagner, Oklahoma, he was a construction worker. After becoming a paraplegic and being confined to a wheelchair, he was a watchmaker for the former Russell Jewelers in Lafayette.  Mr. Holmes was a member of the Carthage Church of God.  Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty-four years are five sisters, Frances Martin and husband Junior, Estelle Martin and husband Clarence all of McClures Bend, Beverly Denton and husband Neal of Rock City, Diane Smith and husband Jimmy "Smitty" of Rome, Mary Munsey and husband Carl of Carthage; four brothers, Carl Holmes and wife Brenda of Crossville, John Doyle Holmes of Mt. Juliet, W.J. Holmes and wife Alma of Gainesboro, Jimmy Holmes and wife Wanda of Hiawassie; five grandchildren.

Iva Loraine Johnson King, 70, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Centennial Medical Center. The Clay County, Tennessee native was born October 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Jack Roy Johnson and Myrtle Spear. On July 9, 1952 she was united in marriage to Howard Hargis King, who preceded her in death.  She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Carolyn and Benny White, two granddaughters: Beth and Courtney White, all of Lafayette; two brothers: Ed Johnson and Lyle Moore, both of Peytonsburg, KY. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Dora Evelyn Johnson.  Funeral services for Iva Loraine Johnson King were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, JUne 29, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Mercer officiating. Burial was in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Mike Hooten, Vin Cline, Max Wells, Eldon Clark, Bobby Bransford and Tom Woosley.  Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN in charge of arrangements.

Buford E. Law, age 85, of Austin Peay Hwy., Westmoreland, TN, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2005.  Funeral services were held Friday, June, 24, 2005, Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. James Perigo and Bro. Wayne Keen officiating. Burial was in Eulia Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Perigo, Mickey Perigo, Lynn Braswell, Randy Hammock, Tony Hammock and Timmy Ham-mock.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Minerva Akins Law. He was married to Katie E. Perigo Law, who survives.  Survivors besides his wife include sons: Ralph Law and Thomas Law, both of Westmoreland, Jimmy Law of Las Vegas, NV, Roger Law of Tacoma, Washington, James Law of Franklin, KY; two daughters, Frances Key of Franklin, KY, Brenda Key of Westmoreland; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters: Vera Mae Hammock, Annie Moore and Ethline White.  Anderson & Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland in charge of arrangements.

 

Irdle Wayne Lawson, 66, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away June 22, 2005.  He is survived by his wife, Ann B. Lawson, sons, Michael W. Drake and Barry W. Lawson; grandchildren, Russell Lawson and Brittney Drake. Locally he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Eld. James Ray and Ethel Lawson, of Lafayette, TN; and also by other brothers, Ferest, Jerry Lawson, and Houston Presley.  Funeral services for Irdle Wayne Lawson were conducted at 10 AM Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Ellis Funeral Home in Nashville, TN with burial in Eulia Cemetery.  Obituary notice a courtesy of Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN.

 

Lois Irene Roark, 87, of Plant City, Florida, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005 in Plant City. The Kentucky native was the owner of Roark Upholstery and Mattress and a founding member of Westside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlin Roark and a son, Bobby Roark.  She is survived by a son, James H. Roark; a brother, Tobe Moore; 6 grandchildren, Diane Fleming, Vicky Conner, Kim Wiljehlm, Jim, Tim, and Tom Roark; and 10 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services for Lois Irene Roark were conducted at 10 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Wells Memorial Chapel in Plant City, Florida.  Obituary notice a courtesy of Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN.

 

Funeral services for Lillie Green Swindle, age 88, of Lafayette, were conducted Saturday, June 25, 2005, 1 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Dean Dyer officiating. Pallbearers were Carl Dyer, Larry Dyer, Miles King, Bobby Sircy, David Barber and Dwight Dyer. Interment was in Anderson & Son Memorial Park.  Lillie Swindle passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Knollwood Manor in Lafayette.  A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Carrol and Annie Chaffin Green. She married Donnie Swindle who preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1994. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Gracie Meador and Roberta Dyer; and brother, Denville Green. She was a homemaker and member of Long Fork Missionary Baptist Church.  Survivors include a son, Ronald Swindle; granddaughter, Tina (Jeff) Keisling; grandson, Bryan Swindle; two great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Carl Dyer, all of Lafayette.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Lafayette, TN.
