Flora Barrentine Williams, age 70, of the Webbtown Community passed away Tuesday at her residence. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Whitfield Funeral Home in Zephyrhills, Florida.  A native of Jackson County, FL, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Mamie Killingsworth Barrentine. She married William Allen Williams who preceded her in death on May 29, 1979. She was a retired restaurant worker.  Survivors include sons, Mike (Olga) Williams, Lafayette, Jeff (Christina) Williams, Suffolk, VA; sisters, Mrs. Nettie Gilbert, Cottondale, FL, Mrs. Bet Estridge; brothers, Ottis, Winfred and Willard Barrentine, all of Zephyrhills, FL; and four grandchildren.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Lafayette, TN.

Mary Odell Hix Crabtree, age 90, of Jackson County, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was born July 28, 1914, in Overton County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Eddie and Adie Maybelle Thompson Warden, was a homemaker and member of Holly Springs Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husbands, Dewey Hix and Johnny Larmon Crabtree; 5 brothers, Arlie, Charlie, Bill, Claude, and Walter Warden; and a sister, Cora Heady.  She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie and Pat Hix, Whitleyville, TN; Bobby Hix, Gainesboro, TN; Gary and Veda Hix, Red Boiling Springs, TN; Larry and Jane Hix, Gainesboro, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Browning, Fairland, IN; Jewell D. Mae Ford, 90, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. The Smith County, Tennessee native was born Saturday, May 1, 1915. She was a homemaker and member of Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Tommy Ford who preceded her in death January 5, 1979.  She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, James and Bettie Ford, Lafayette, TN; Gene and Lucille Burns, Lebanon, TN; a daughter, Peggy Mooneyham, McMinnville, TN; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her mother, Edna Shoemake; a grandson, Mickel Gene Burns; a sister, Mazie Smith; and a son-in-law, Verble L. Mooneyham.  Funeral services for Mae Ford were conducted at 5:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Anthony Hale officiating. Burial was in Roark Cemetery. Mrs. Margaret Givens, 78, a homemaker of the Buffalo Community, died Friday afternoon May 6, 2005 at Carthage General Hospital following a brief illness.  Services from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home were conducted by Bro. Steve Waller and Eld. Jeff Patterson on Sunday , May 8 at 4:00 p.m. Burial was in Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens.  Mrs. Givens was married to James Ezra "Buck" Givens on Christmas Eve, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2000 after almost fifty years of marriage.  Born Mary Margaret Swann on September 26, 1926 in the Defeated Creek Community, she was the daughter of the late George Esker and Mai C. Lankford Swann. Mrs. Givens was of the old fashion Baptist belief.  Surviving are three sons, Charles Givens and wife Brenda, Ricky Givens and wife Vickie, Howell Givens and wife Dee Ann all of Buffalo; three sisters, Mildred Hackett of Gallatin, Nancy McCall of Defeated Creek, Doris Wood and husband Bobby of Lafayette; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Sandersson of Kempville, directors.

Charles H. Green, 77, of New Palestine, Indiana, passed away Sunday in New Palestine. The Lebanon, Tennessee native was a son of the late Arthur Green and Ada Howard Green, a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, a Mason, and a retired employee of Western Electric, where he worked for over 30 years.  He is survived by his wife Georgia Green; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Kellie Green; Mark D. and Amy Green; a daughter, Judy D. Scott, a sister, Avie M. Stiles; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services for Charles H. Green were conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Jenkins officiating. Mr. Jerry Layne Halliburton, age 46, of Hartsville, TN died Thursday afternoon, May 5, 2005 at his home.  He was preceded in death by: father, James Leslie Halliburton; mother, Selma Lee Halliburton; and brother James Michael Halliburton. He is survived by son, Jordan Taylor Halliburton; daughter, Leslie Brooke Halliburton; mother of children, Mrs. Terri (Lonnie) Taylor - all of Hartsville; brother, Mr. Jackie (Darlene) Halliburton - Hartsville, TN; and sister, Mrs. Lisa (Radford Jr.) Spivey - Lafayette, TN.  Funeral services were held in the chapel of Anthony Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2005 conducted by Eld. Kevin Harrison and Eld. Walter Andrews.  Honorary pallbearer: Jordan Halliburton; active pallbearers: Danny Halliburton, Keith Ford, Randall Tillman, Ricky Andrews, Radford & Jimmy Spivey and Danny Bilbrey.  Interment was in the Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Macon Co., TN

Benny Gene Haskins, 40, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away late Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Macon County General Hospital from injuries in a traffic accident. He was born in Allen County, Kentucky on Monday, May 25, 1965, and was a construction worker and member of Grace Baptist Church.  He is survived by a daughter, Annie Haskins; a son, Ben Haskins, both of the Wixtown Community; his mother and step-father, Ann and Bobby Hyde, of Lafayette, TN; brothers and sister-in-law, Michael Wallace Haskins, Lafayette, TN; Dewight and Sandy Rollin, of the Wixtown Community; a sister, Jacqueline Bullington, Gallatin, TN; grandfather, Genie Haskins, of the Rocky Mound Community; his former wife, Teresa Haskins, of the Wixtown Community; a step-son, Jamie Wheeler, of the Bugtussle Community; 3 step-grandchildren, 3 nieces and 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wallace Haskins, and a grandmother, Annie Louise Haskins.  Funeral services for Benny Gene Haskins were conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Wix and Bro. Kenneth Wix officiating. Burial was in Eulia Cemetery. Myrtle "Jane" Hathaway, 79, of Osborne Road, Lakeville, IN, passed away at 8:06 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2005 in Hospice House, South Bend. Jane was born on October 4, 1925 in Marion, OH to Orva C. and Minnie (Moon) Harper. On December 9, 1943 in Warsaw, IN, she married David K. Hathaway I, who survives.  Mrs. Hathaway is survived by her husband, David, of sixty-one years; three daughters, Ruth (George) Leach of Hobart, IN; Peggy (Ben) Yeo of Bremen, IN; Karen (James) Blankenship of Lafayette, TN; one son, D. Keith (Jane) Hathaway II of Millersburg, IN; nine-granddaughters, five grandsons, 13 great-granddaughters and 11 great-grandsons. Also surviving are two sisters, Marilyn (Harold) Burnside of Pemberville, OH, Nancy (Tom) Tomlin of Marion, OH; four brothers, Ted (Mary) Harper of Columbus, OH, Jack (Joan) Harper of Edison, OH, Ron (Linda) Harper of Mt. Gilead, OH and Rev. Ray (Sandy) Harper of Columbus, OH. A brother, Jimmy Harper, and her parents preceded her in death.  Mrs. Hathaway moved to the area in 1945 coming from Marion, OH. She was employed by Wirekraft in Lakeville. After fifteen years, she retired from Massachusetts Mutual in South Bend; she worked for seven years as the office manager for Haskins Construction Company in Lakeville. She was a member of the Olive Branch United Brethren Church in Lakeville since 1952. She was past president for several years and the current president of the Women's Missionary Association, commonly known as the "Ginger Snaps."  Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 in Olive Branch United Brethren Church, 22750 Osborne Road, Lakeville, IN. Betty Jean Jones, 69, of the Siloam Community, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Wednesday, June 12, 1935, a daughter of the late Floyd Frye and Cora Shrum Frye, and was a homemaker. On July 21, 1951 she was united in marriage to Louie Jones who preceded her in death on May 27, 1992.  She is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Todd Doss, of the Green Valley Community; Diane and Charles Kemp, of the Tanglewood Community; Patricia and Danny McCormick, of the New Zion Community; a son and daughter-in-law, Louis W. and Julie Jones, of the Hanestown Community; a brother, Billy Frye, Westmoreland, TN; 3 sisters, Bonnie Baize, Earlington, KY; Elsie Hoskins, of the Green Valley Community; and Ruthie Taylor, of the Oakdale Community; 7 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rhonda Layne; and 4 brothers, Delmer Frye, Hillous Frye, Dennis Frye, and Bobby Frye.  Funeral services for Betty Jean Jones were conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Wayne Freeman, Jr. officiating. Burial was in Shrum Cemetery. Mr. Charles Robert Keisling, age 73, of 2190 Keisling Road, Monroe, TN, passed away Friday, May 6, 2005 at his residence.  Funeral services were held Sunday, May 8, 2005, 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Livingston, officiated by Rev. Craig Green. Burial was in Keisling-Knight Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Charles A. Keisling, Dale Keisling, Kelly Keisling, Keith Keisling, Johnny Fred Coleman, Jimmy Coleman, Forest Mullins, Harold Jolly and Charles Langford. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Glen, Jerry Flowers, Ward Hassler, Leland Garrett, Jerry Paul Flowers, Fred Clark, Ricky Gunter, Bill Warren, Terry Dillon and Harold Keisling.  He was born July 27, 1931 in Pickett County, TN, a son of the late Herman A. Keisling and Cleva Agnes Griffin Keisling. He was valedictorian of his 1950 class at Pickett County High School, he was in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 and was District Supervisor for Farmers Home Admin. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church.  Survivors include his wife, Barbara Swanson Keisling, Monroe, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tina Keisling, Lafayette, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Daniel Roddy, Monroe, TN; and four grandchildren.  Speck Funeral Home in Livingston was in charge of arrangements.

Retired Pleasant Shade Community farmer Kindred Oldham, 90, died Wednesday morning May 4, 2005 at Carthage General Hospital following an extended illness.  Services were conducted by Eld. James Thomas Gibbs and Eld. Billy Joe Shoulders from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Friday afternoon. The burial followed the 3:00 p.m. services in the Pleasant Shade Cemetery.  On March 28, 1937 he was married in Pleasant Shade to the former Alice Luzell Kittrell. Born James Kindred Oldham in Pleasant Shade on February 7, 1915, he was the son of the late Willie Thomas and Maymie Ellen Taylor Wilkerson. His only sibling, Mai C. Oldham Beasley, preceded him in death.  Mr. Oldham was a lifelong farmer and a Missionary Baptist.  Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are five children, Ronald Oldham and wife Nancy of Tennessee Ridge, Prentice Oldham and wife Aileen of Hendersonville, Judith Webb and husband Edward of the Grant Community, Nancy Brandon and husband Larry, Susan Ragland and husband Gerald all of Pleasant Shade; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  Sanderson of Carthage, directors.

Carmon Patterson, 78, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Friday, May 6, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Friday, May 21, 1926, a son of the late Monroe Patterson and Ethel Oldham Patterson. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, and a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. On July 18, 1945 he was united in marriage to Ruby Burree Knight Patterson.  He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Ruby Burree Patterson; a daughter, Diane Spencer; a twin brother, Norman "Shorty" Patterson; and 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Spencer and Brian Spencer, all of Lafayette, TN. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 children, Linda Lou Patterson and Ruby Ethel Patterson, a brother, Odell Patterson, and a son-in-law, Carson Spencer. Funeral services for Carmon Patterson were conducted at 5:00 PM Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Charlie Patterson officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
