Garnett Rose Bonomo, 83, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. She was born Tuesday, June 14, 1921, in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harry Van Zandt and Louise Cook Van Zandt. She was a member of Beech Grove Methodist Church, a retired nurses aide, and wife of the late Anthony Bonomo.  She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald Arthur and Donna Jean Suydam, of Clayton, Michigan; and Richard Charles Wohlgamuth, Westmoreland, TN; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and Steve Naylor and Tonya Lynn Wohlgamuth, all of Lafayette, TN; sisters, Alberta Gibbs, Harkers Island, North Carolina; and Carol Rae Watson, Hudson, Florida; 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Arthur VanZandt and William Ira VanZandt.  Funeral services for Garnett Rose Bonomo were conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Caroline Farmer and Rev. Mark Templeton officiating. Burial was in Drury Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tyson Bray, Jeff Lashley, William Naylor, Bobby Naylor, George Naylor, and Mark Ford.  Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Verne Osbin Browning, Sr., age 87, of Forkum Lane, Lafayette, TN, were conducted Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Rev. Michael Welch officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Browning, Girvous Browning, Michael Jones, Barry Witcher, Verne Browning II, Audie Browning and Ronnie Browning. Friends served as active pallbearers. Interment followed in Anderson & Son Memorial Park.  Verne Browning, Sr. passed away Saturday afternoon, May 28, 2005 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs.  A native of Clay County, TN, he was the son of the late Hove and Dora Birdwell Browning. On July 6, 1954, he was married to Colleen Dingess, who survives. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Witcher and Mae Clevenger; and brothers, Andrew, Buford, Hubert and Audie Browning. He was a retired bus driver from the Cleveland Transit System in Cleveland, OH.  Survivors besides his wife include daughters, Dianna (Michael) Jones of Lafayette and Juanita Kipp; sons, Ronnie (Rebecca) Browning of Kingston Springs, TN, Audie (Faye) Browning of Lafayette, Verne Browning, II of Antioch, TN and Jack (Jan) Browning of Wilmington, CO; sisters, Myrtle Rhoton of Clarksville, IN, Madge Bean of Red Boiling Springs; brothers, Girvous Browning of Red Boiling Springs, Kenneth Browning of Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren.  Arrangements by Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Lafayette, TN.

 

Bettie Gwindlene Driver, 68, of the Haysville Community, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee, native was born Thursday, March 11, 1937, a daughter of the late Ernest Eugene Oliver and Dovie Gregory Oliver. She was a retired factory worker and member of Old Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church.  She is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Bill Gordon; Judy and Eld. Roger Holland, Kimberly and Connie Gammon, all of Lafayette, TN; 7 grandchildren, Ronald and Kristy Gordon, Brandi and Gary McEwen, B J Gordon, Sharon and Tommy Daughtery, Jeremy and TeLina Holland, Amy Mitchell, and Justin Gammon; and 8 great-grandchildren, Addison Gordon, Brayli Gordon, William Gordon II, Avery McEwen, Austin Daughtery, Haley Daughtery, Logan Daughtery, and Jessie Holland. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Oliver Douglas, and 2 brothers, Earnest Oliver and Billy Oliver.  Funeral services for Bettie Gwindlene Driver were conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Oldham officiating. Burial was in Nelson McDonald Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jeff Johnson, Shane Holland, Jeff Tucker, Michael Tucker, James Bradley, and Lonnie Douglas. Honorary pallbearers were Ron Gordon, B J Gordon, Jeremy Holland, and Justin Gammon.  Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.

 

Fred Hale, 92, of Plainfield, Indiana, and a native of Macon County, Tennessee, passed away Friday, May 27, 2005. He was an assembler for General Motors Allison for 25 years, retiring in 1978. He was a charter member of the Southside Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Overton Hale.  He is survived by his second wife, Lucille Hale, of Indiana-polis, IN; a son, John W. Hale, Fishers, IN; daughters, Jo Helen Bottoms, Clayton, IN; Vera Joyce Griffin, Ft. Collins, Colorado; Patricia Ann Hale, Loogootee, IN; step-children, Charlotte McReynolds, Jacksonville, FL; Charles McReynolds, Franklin, KY; brother, Norman Hale, of the Rocky Mound Community; sisters, Mrs. Huey Brooks, and Irene Crowder, both of Lafayette, TN; and Ineiah Edwards, Hurst, Texas, 9 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 11 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services for Fred Hale were conducted at 11 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Flanner-Buchanan Funeral Center-Decatur with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.  Obituary notice a courtesy of Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN.

 

Deana Hauskins, 57, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Thursday, August 28, 1947 a daughter of the late Dick Hauskins and Idell Sanders Hauskins. She was a member of Brattontown Missionary Baptist Church and a retired quality control worker for Bosch. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Samantha Read, Greenbrier, TN; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Bertha Hauskins; Keith and Angie Hauskins; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Claywell, all of Lafayette, TN; 3 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Claywell.  Funeral services for Deana Hauskins were conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home Chapel with Eld. Guthrie Thompson officiating. Burial was in Drury Cemetery.
