| Jan Borders, 66, of 5380 Franklin Road,
Scottsville, KY, died at 1:40 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2005, at her
residence. The Ravenswood, WV native was a homemaker and a daughter of the
late Harry Hamilton and Toldie Irene Baker Boyd. She is survived by
her husband: Buddy Borders, Scottsville, KY; 3 sons: Lenny Snook and wife,
Catherine, Westmoreland, TN; Jay Snook and wife, Debbie, Portland, TN; and
Mark Snook, Adolphus, KY; 1 step-son: Shannon Borders, Scottsville, KY; 3
step-daughters: Debbie Woods and husband, Jerry, and Shelia Miller and
husband, Eddie, all of Scottsville, KY; Twyla Borders, Nashville, TN; 2
sisters: Debbie Stafford and Lori Carter, both of Westmoreland, TN; 6
grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 1
step-great-grandchild. Funeral services for Jan Borders were at 2:00
p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Shockley
officiating and burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
| Mark Jason Dorton, 21, of Lafayette,
Tennessee, was pronounced dead on arrival Sunday, October 30, 2005 at
Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, TN from injuries in an
automobile accident on Akersville Road. The Davidson County, Tennessee
native was a factory worker and attended Grace Baptist Church. He
is survived by his wife, Trenia Stewart; a daughter, Caleigh Nicole
Dorton; his mother and step-father, Sheila and Tony Gammons, all of
Lafayette, TN; his father, Keith Smith, Nashville, TN; a sister, Tori
Adams, Lafayette, TN; his maternal grandfather, Tommy Dorton, Vanleer,
TN; and his maternal great-grandmother, Lorene Dorton, Ashland City, TN.
Funeral services for Mark Jason Dorton were conducted at 2:00 PM
Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld.
Thomas Earl Roark officiating. Burial was in Pirtle Cemetery. Active
pallbearers were Josh Price, Timmy Slayton, Adam Crook, Michael Price,
Bobby Fleek, Jeff Russell, Matthew Draper, and Robert Sanders.

| Jamie Scott Howard, age 27, of
Lafayette, Tennessee, formerly of Monroe County, Kentucky, passed
away Saturday, November 5, 2005, in a vehicle accident in Tennessee.
Jamie Scott Howard was born in Glasgow, Kentucky June 6, 1978. He
was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his grandmother,
Charlene Howard, and his grandfather, Hubert Clarkson. He is
survived by his father, Charles Howard of Lafayette, Tennessee,
step-mother, Kathy Howard of Lafayette, Tennessee, mother, Brenda
Clarkson Melton of Celina, Tennessee, step-father, Junior Melton of
Celina, Tennessee; three brothers, Charlie Howard and Chris Howard,
both of Lafayette, Tennessee, and Sean Melton of Celina, Tennessee;
two sisters, Jessica Gilliham of Gamaliel, Kentucky and Latise
Melton of Celina, Tennessee; grandparents Rondal Howard of Gamaliel,
step-grandmother, Runelle Howard, grandmother, Jewell Clarkson,
step-grandfather, Gene Scott, great- Grandmother, Gladys
Howard; and two nieces, Destiny Gilliham and Jaylynn Gilliham.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2005
at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home with Bro. Dean Sircy officiating.
Burial was in the Rocky Hill Cemetery.
Funeral services for Tommy Kirby, age 69, of the Union Camp
Community in Lafayette, TN, were conducted Thursday, November 3,
2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son
Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Jeff Patterson officiating.
Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. His nephews
served as pallbearers. Tommy Kirby passed away Monday evening,
October 31, 2005 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette,
TN. A native of Macon County, TN, he was the son of the late
Tommy Haskel, Sr. and Zelma Hudson Kirby. He was married to Hazel
Sliger on July 2, 1960, who survives. He was a member of the
Friendship Primitive Baptist Church at Defeated, a stone mason and
enjoyed his hobby as an artist. Survivors besides his wife of
45 years includes son, Nicky Kirby; sister, Linda Pedigo; brother &
sister-in-law, Connie & Peggy Kirby, all of Lafayette, TN.

Linda Sue Mitchell, age 49, of North
First Street in Westmoreland, TN, passed away Saturday, November
5th, 2005. Funeral serivces were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday,
November 8, 2005 at Providence General Baptist Church with Bro.
Larry Emery officiating. Interment was in Providence Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Cordell and Verlie Hoskins and was
married to Thomas Dwaight Mitchell of Westmoreland, who survives.
She was a member of the Providence General Baptist Church.
Survivors besides her husband include sons: David Mitchell and Chris
Mitchell of Bethpage; sister: Darlene Duffer of Bethpage; and four
grandchildren: Destiny, Christy, Deacon, & Dawson Mitchell, all of

| Uldine Parrish, 86, of
Scottsville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2005 at
the Cal Turner Extended Care Center in Scottsville, Kentucky.
The Barren County, Kentucky native was born Thursday, August 21,
1919, a daughter of the late Luther Wood and Ethel Crowder Wood.
She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church, a 1937 graduate
of Mt. Zion High School in Allen County, a retired employee of
General Electric, where she was an inspector, a former owner of
Southwinds Restaurant and White Front Restaurant, both in
Scottsville. She is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law,
Iretta Gaskill, Decatur, Alabama; Regenia and Jimmie Dalton,
Scottsville, KY; a sister and brother-in-law, Louvenia (Cricket)
and Wayne Rippy, of the Shiloh Community of Allen County; 4
grandchildren, Donna Dugas, Hope Gunter, Jennifer Gibson, and
Robin Dalton; 5 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren,
and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she
was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Uldine Parrish were conducted at 2:00 PM
Saturday, November 5, 2005 at White Plains Baptist Church Family
Life Center in Scottsville, Kentucky with Rev. Frank Taylor
officiating. Burial was in Fountain Run Cemetery. Active
pallbearers were Frankie Wood, Billy Stinson, Creo Rich, Dr.
William E. Harston, Jr., Billy Hurt, and Tommy Long. Honorary
pallbearer was Eugene Harper. Alexander-Goad Funeral Home
