Cleo Gladys Jones Green

Born in McMinn County on Sept. 20, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Walter Franklin and Sarah Ann Brown Jones, and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Taylor Green; one infant son, Sim Green Jr.; one sister, Addie Mae Jones; three brothers, Dewey, Muncy and Arthur Jones; and one grandson, Ronnie McKee.
"Sis" was a gifted gardener and found joy in all varieties of plants throughout her life. She was especially fond of the flowering plants she grew on and around her porch in the summers and the African violets, which bloomed continually on her kitchen window sill. More than growing the plants, "Sis" enjoyed sharing them and always offered cuttings or transplants to admirers. She was also a talented seamstress and, although this skill grew out of the need to clothe three daughters through young adulthood, it continued as a pleasant hobby well into her later years. Long after her eyesight prevented her from sewing a fine hem, she continued to produce quilts for her grandchildren.
In addition to these and many other domestic abilities, "Sis" was a formidable checkers player. Many unsuspecting family members and friends were drawn into a friendly game with the kindly grandmother only to be carefully studied for a few moves and then soundly and repeatedly whipped.

Lunsford; 10 great-grandchildren, Taylor Fugate, Michael Wayne Lunsford, Corey Talbert, Katie McKee, Trip, Addie and Chance Brewer, Amanda and David Fugate and Rhonda Crutchfield; several great-great-grandchildren; and one special niece, Sue Moses.

George Charles Hickman

Born Jan. 7, 1965, in Washington, D.C., he was a son of George Venton and Cleo Barnes Hickman. He attended Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., graduating at the tender age of 15. He went on to attend technical school, where he learned his trade as an electrician. He served an LDS mission from 1985 to 1987 to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Mission. He and his widowed mother relocated to Etowah shortly after his mission. There they resided for 14 years.
On Nov. 21, 2003, after a lifetime of searching, he was sealed for time and eternity to his beloved angel Greta in the Atlanta LDS Temple. They have resided in Etowah and Athens and later relocated to Bountiful, Utah, in June 2004. He loved Bountiful and felt very at home there.
He will be sadly missed by both his friends and family and he loved to learn new things. He had knowledge on many topics and he truly took the admonition to increase his intelligence to heart. Learning was fun for him and he tried to pass this love of learning on to his little family.
He was greatly loved by all who knew him and he had the ability to love others unconditionally and to see beyond the outer person into their heart. He will be greatly missed.
He loved the Lord and strived the best he could to become like Him in his countenance. He also had a great sense of humor and often brought joy to those who knew him.
He had kind eyes and a loving heart and we, his family, will greatly miss him. We long for the day in which we will be reunited as an eternal family.
He leaves behind his wife, Greta, and stepdaughter, Somerset; his mother, Cleo Hickman of Lakeland, Fla.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Starlee and Alan Dickey of Lakeland, Fla.
