SHACKELFORD FUNERAL DIRECTORS, Selmer, Tn., (901) 645-3481 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- William Walker - Contributed by: Nolin Christensen William Walker, sixth son of Ephraim and Mary Walker, exchanged time for eternity, and the cares and labors of mortality for a resting place with the blessed, in McNairy county, Tenn., Nov. 4, 1849, in the 33d year of his age; leaving behind him a wife and six children, together with his parents now in the decrepitude of old age, with a large circle of friends, and the society of which he was leader, to mourn their loss; and while his mortality sleeps in the grave yard at old Shiloh Meeting House, on the Purdy circuit, by faith I behold his happy spirit resting in the Paradise of God, and almost ready to say, rest on my saluted brother. Rest with thy kindred who have preceded thee, rest with thy Savior, and praise him for redeeming grace and dying love. Thou hast gotten through the p____, thy race is run, thou hast gained the prize, and thy God hath given thee the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ; therefore, live, live forever, live in the house of God, in the Palace of God, in the City of the great King, the New Jerusalem, among the blest, with the faithful, in the society of the good, with the Angels of God, rejoice forever with the redeemer; and soon thy kindred will meet thee, one by one, to join the song of redemption.
