DANDY HYSMITH, age 79, farmer and retired banker, died Sunday morning April 27, 2003 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served during World War II as a signalman First Class on the USS LST 635 in the South Pacific and returned in 1946. He was married to Evelyn Crouse in 1946 and they made their home in the Finger area where they farmed. He was Vice President of Home Banking Company of Finger, after working there 22 years. He continued to farm after his retirement from the bank. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Finger, where he taught Sunday School and had been Sunday School Treasurer and Church Treasurer. She was the daughter of the late Luke Littlefield and was born in the Winding Ridge community, northwest of Adamsville. A half century ago she married the late Neal White, one time member of the county court, of this county, and in his day, one of the prominent and substantial citizens of the north part of the county. ----------------------- August 23, 1918 AN AGED LADY PASSED AWAY Mrs. F. M. Freeman, aged 71 years died Thursday, August 15, and was buried in the Adamsville cemetery Friday afternoon in presence of a large concourse of life-long friends. Rev. King performed the burial service. Mrs. Freeman was stricken with apoplexy Monday, and was never conscious until shortly before death. She has for several years made her home with her son, Sam, who together with his wife, rendered her last days as comfortable and pleasant as possible. She has been in declining health since the death of her husband F. M. Freeman, several years ago. She was a most devoted wife and loving mother. -----------------------
