This indenture made and concluded this 5th day
of March in the year of our Lord , One thousand eight hundred and ninteen
between Cabin Smith a native of the Cherokee Nation of Indians and Gideon
Morgan Jur. of the state of Tennessee and Town of Knoxville. Witnesseth that
the said Cabbin Smith hath bargained, sold and convered and by these presents
doth bargain, sell and convey unto the said Gideon Morgan a certain tract or
parcel of land situate lying and being in the State of Tennessee and County of
Blount on the Waters of little Tennessee river at a place called Nicholsons or
Blairs ferry on said river containing six hundred and forty acres to be
located in equal quantities on both sides of said River being the same tract
of land which was reserved to the said Cabbin Smith by the late treaty made
and executed the twenty seventy day of February in the present year by and
between the Honorable John C. Calhoun, Secty. of War in behalf of the untied
States and the Cherokee Deputation at the city of Washington for and
consideration of the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars to the said Cabbin
Smith the receipt (unknown word) is hereby acknowledged duly warranting and
defending the aforesaid tract of land with its (unknown word) and
appurtenances to the said Gideon Morgan from him said Cabbin Smith his heirs
and assigns and all other person or persons whatsoever to the said Gideon
Morgan, Jun and his heirs forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and affixed my seal the day and date above written. Signed, sealed
