(Obituary)
Succumbing to a protracted illness of consumption, Mr. Lenard
EDWARDS died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Rebeccah EDWARDS, in South Dickson, at an
early hour Thursday morning, Dec. 9 aged 24 years. Deceased is survived by his
mother, one brother, and two sisters, the latter being Mrs. John M. GOSSETT, of this city
and Mrs. Emma TRUETT, of Hickman county. The surviving brother is James EDWARDS.
With these the entire community sympathizes in their sore berevement over the loss
of one who was to them all that the words son and brother implies. Ever gentle
affectionate and devoted to duty Len was the very impersonation of goodness. From
childhood he manifested these beautiful traits which his every act in after life but
magnified. He was a trusted employee of the Centreville Branch Railroad, in which
capacity he was a grand favorite with all his fellow employees. He was also a member
in high standing of the K. of P. Order, being a member of W. A. Hopkins Lodge, of this
city, and under whose auspices his remains were interred in the Lyle cemetery in Hickman
county, last Friday, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends, 75 or
more going from here.
