I am trying to find out about Benjamin Isaac NORROD, born in Buckinghamshire, Eng. in 1735, died in Stewart Co., TN. Some of his children lived in Overton Co., TN as well as Iredell Co., NC. I believe I'm a descendant of his son Mullikan NORRED, who may have settled in Edgefield, SC, but would like to firm this up. Any NORROD information is welcome! Thanks.

Seek information on Dave Richardson's parents. Dave was born probably in Overton Co., Tn on Nov 18, 1818-d. Sep 30, 1893. He is buried in the Dave Richardson Cem. in Overton Co. He married Sarah Sells in 1842. Their children were Peter, Mary, Nancy, Eliza Jane and possibly Cain. Also seeking info. on Melvina Sells who married Peter Sep 27, 1871. Who were her parents? Any info. on these lines would be greatly appreciated. Peter and Melvina are my maternal great grandparents but noone seems to have any info. past my grandmother Ida Ann (Richardson) Stover.

Hello Overton county. Can anyone do a death recording look-up or a cemetary check for me? I am looking for Richard M. Johnson, Lafayette (Fate) Johnson and Plestine (Tine) Johnson they are supposed to be buried in or near Monroe, Tennessee. I am looking for any relatives of Wilson b.1820 or Alfred b. 1816 Johnson still in the area of Willowgrove and Lillydale. I think both locations are submerged but I am sure there are several relatives in the vicinity. Richard died in 1922/23/24 in Clinton,Ky. Ky has no record and family history has it he was returned to his birthplace.

OVERTON CO - William PRYOR and Spicey Taylor Pryor - married in 1809 in VA, came to Overton Co abt 1815. Have been unable to uncover any children other than Chesley Pryor, born 1829. FInd it hard to believe that this couple had no children during 20 years of marriage. In 1830 Spicey Taylor and her mother ELizabeth sold a piece of land to Elijah Garrett. This occured about the same time as Elijah's son Loderic married a girl named Mary Pryor - is this Mary a child of William and Spicey? Spicey appears head of household on all census records after 1830. What happened to William? Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated.

OVERTON CO - Searching for information on Arizona Anna Nation, born 1884, Hanging Limb. Her daughter insists that Henry Jackson Nation is Arizona's father. Another daughter visited with him in Oklahoma. IT seems to be an acknowledged thing that Henry Jackson Nation is the father. No clue as to Arizona's mother however. Henry Jackson Nation was married twice. Have found no listing of children by Lucinda Tranbarger - she died in 1893, and he married Martelia Claborn. Thier first child was born in 1892. Was Arizona Anna a child of his first wife, and raised by someone else after Lucinda's death, or was she an illegitemate daughter? Would really like to close this loop in the family tree. At the age of 16 Arizona was living alone in a boarding house per 1900 census. Thank you!

Researching BENDER and ALLEN families. Samuel BENDER (1795-1868) was a doctor in Overton Co. from 1824 until 1842 when the family moved to Missouri. Samuel and wife Mary Ann DAWES had nine children--eight born in Overton Co. Son Alexander C. BENDER (1829-1909) married Rachel ALLEN, daughter of Josiah and Sarah (DALE) ALLEN. Following Josiah's death, Sarah also moved to Missouri. Anxious to correspond with any who have information about these families.

Searching for information on the elusive William and Mahala PETERMAN. Both were born in Georgia and came to Overton Co., TN, in the early 1820s. By 1850 they had moved on to Johnson Co., IL. Some of the PETERMAN family stayed on in Overton Co. I believe the PETERMANs intermarried with the STEVENS (STEPHENS) family of Overton Co.

Searching for info about Benjamin E. Garrett b. 7/31/1818 in Overton Co., TN; d. 1864 in Boone Co., IN. Son of John Garrett b.1/10/1795 in NC and Virginia Jane Hinshaw Garrett b. 6/5/1798. John was the son of Jacob Garrett and Elizabeth Pfeiffer. Benjamin is in 1850 census of IN married to Sarah, age 36 from NC. Also in household is Mahala Burgess, age 34 from NC, Sarah Burgess became his 2nd wife and my ancestor. I can find no marraige records to Sarah in TN or IN. I beleive she is a sister of Mahala but have no proof. I also am looking for information about Jacob and Elizabeth Garrett and John and Virginia Jane Garrett.
