WINTON posted by Peggy WILSON on Sunday, July 20, 1997: Would like to correspond with any ROBERT WINTON descendants. He was an 1800's resident of Overton County and some of his descendants probably still reside there.

FANNIN, FANNING, FANNON, MOORE posted by Cathy Phillips on Sunday, July 20, 1997: FANNIN/FANNING/Fannon: Am searching for Middleton FANNIN(G) in Overton Co. Middleton was b.c 1765 Va. md. Delphia Ann MOORE, 1787 Caswell Co. NC. Moved to Elbert Co. Ga. had quite and active. Is said to have moved to Lincoln Co. TN after 1805. Have not comfirmed he was actually ever there. Delphia and children were. Found where Middleton joined the Tennesssee Militia in Overton Co.. Sept. 15, 1808, as Lieutenant, 35th Reg. as Middleton FANNON. No clue to his where abouts since this date. Any info would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.

TN 1820-1850. He may have been m. 2 or 3 times. Possibly to a Caroline/Rebecca RULE, and then to an Elizabeth ? and then to Priscilla Mullinex Prichard. He had children: Mary Ann BRADLEY, Wesley who m. Elizabeth ADKINS, Nancy Anna who m. Levi PYLE, James Evans who m. Candas Catherine CRISCILLIS, dau.of George, Samuel who m. Narcissa ?, Andrew James who m. Margaret WRIGHT, Young, who m. Mary STORIE, and with Priscilla had a dau., Deliah Tennessee who m. Andrew Alexander GOODING. In 1860 we see him in Clinton Co. KY ( 76 P.O. ) with other of his family. Who are James C.'s parents? He was born @ 1786 in VA. Thanks! Mary

MORROW, STEPHENS, STEPHENSON, WHITNEY posted by Barbara PUGH on Monday, July 21, 1997: James/Joseph A. G. WHITNEY in Overton Co. 1890 working as a medical doctor, registered with the State of TN. Married at that time to Emma Francis MORROW b. 1814-1919. James b. abt 1802-1904. Can't find where he died and is buried, but probably not Overton Co. as he left in the 1890s with Molly (Mary Elizabeth STEPHENS/STEPHENSON). James & Emma had two girls who lived (Lillian May WISENEr and Maggie Whitney, who was in Fentress Co. in 1900. James/Joseph & Molly had 9 children. James & Mollie are in the 1900 census in Campbell Co., TN.

While researching my WALKER and GARRETT lines at the LDS library-- I found an entry on a Martin WALKER (my grgrgrandfather) submitted by a Parlie Hockins (since deceased) which listed Mrs. DOWELL or POWELL(the name was difficult to read) as the source.
