The RICE connection goes thru George w. RICE, b. ca. 1836, and his wife Hester, b. ca. 1843, both in TN. Have not found ther marraige record record, but was probably 1857 in Overton. Speculation has been her name was SHELTON - there was an Asby SHELTON, age 11, in thei 1860 household. George W. was the son of William S. RICE, b. ca. 1803 in Va. and his wife Fanny, b. ca. 1805 in TN. They were in 1850-60 Overton census.

Tom RICH had a daughter. Her name was Margaret. She married a RICHARDSON When she was expecting her first child her husband died. Her first child was named Sally Christine RICHARDSON. She was born December 26, 1911 (or 1909 or 10 or 12?????). Margaret remarried. Her husband was David ROOKER. By that marriage was born Lora Mai and Rhoda Lee ROOKER. They were born in Livingston, Tenn. We have no idea who this RICHARDSON gentleman is. There is a story that he was a Methodist preacher. Margaret RICHARDSON ROOKER died Jan. 11, 1925. The girls were put in an orphanage and they never saw their father again. I believe that he died in 1934.
