Can anyone out there help us trace David RICHARDSON (1818-1893) b in VA or TN and married to Sarah SELLS (1820-1901) daughter of David SELLS (1797-1875) and Mary Magdalene WHISENAND (1794-1861) back a generation or two. We cannot seem to find who his parents were or where he really came from.

Looking for any infor on James SMITH. He married Sally/Sarah PHILLIPS, a daughter of jonas PHILLIPS and a grandaughter of Moses PHILLIPS. James is living in the 1860 Overton CO., TN Census in District 9. Does anyone know who he belongs to? I think maybe Benajmin SMITH, sho was there in 1850.

I am in search for documentation concerning the civil districts as they were drawn in the early to mid 1830's. I have seen a photo-copy of a document that described the districts using the verbal property line descriptions. Specifically this one describes District 8 as follows: ". . . thence to Jacob GARROTS excluding him & his son John.". I would like very much to know what book this information came from, or even better, a copy or how to find the original description, as the John Garrot mentioned in it is my 4th great-grandfather and this document proves conclusively that Jacob GARRETT is my 5th great-grandfather. If anyone can help me with this I will forever be in your debt.

Looking for info on Joseph CRAWFORD and his father-in-law, James Brock. Joseph lived within present day Overton Co boundaries from about 1800 until 1815. James lived in Overton from about 1803 until about 1822. Also, looking for info on Edward CRAWFORD and John CRAWFORD who lived in Overton about the same time frame.

Theophilus MCMILLION was in Overton Co., TN in 1830. He was married in 1796 in Stokes County, NC to Frances BYBEE. They disappear after 1830. It is possible that they may have went to Indiana (possibly Orange County). I know that the family of Burgess WALL was in Orange County, Indiana during this time-period and migrated to Fannin County, Texas, via Missouri, before 1850. There was a Theophilus MCMILLION who was married to a Mary E. WEBBER in Fannin County, Tesas in 1856. He shows on the 1860 census of Fannin County, Texas as being born circa 1830 in Indiana. Theophilus MCMILLION was enumerated between the family Samuel WALL and his son Theophilus WALL on the 1860 census of Fannin County, TX. Is there a connection between these two Theophilus MCMILLIONS? Was the younger Theophilus MCMILLIION a son or grandson of the older Theophilus MCMILLION? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

may have info regarding J Dresser query about James M. Lyon b. c. 1823, son of Edmond and Elizabeth CHEATWOOD Dennis LYON of Overton Co, Tn. J.M. LYON and Rebecky along with : JaneEdmond>James W. John are found in the 1840 census in Overton Co. Also in 1850 with additional children:Robert S> (my link)>Hopy E> Julia A. My James M. left Tn by 1860 and migrated to south Arkansas with his family and later died there. Am also hoping to tie Edmond LYON of Overton to Robert LYON of Caswell CO., NC (possibly Edmond's father). Found this excerpt in probate records for a Robert LYON which included: "propert left Elizabeth LYON by her first husband John Dennis....". I have been trying to find the family of Mary A. WEST. Mary A. WEST married my gg-grandfather, Hezekiah Brown in about 1865-68. She was born in Tenn. according to some records I have. Hezekiah was born and lived in Clinton Co., KY, on the Tenn. border in 1841, so I have been looking for info. around Fentress, Overton, Scott and those counties, but have found nothing. I am guessing that Mary A. WEST would have been born around the same time as Hezekiah, or a few years later?, so around 1841-1850, so would show up as a child in the 1850 census. There is a Reuben West who had a daughter Polly Anna WEST, b. about 1843 in Overton Co. (according to Francis Gill), But I do not know where they were in 1850 or 1860. Thanks for any info.

Their Son was George Delbert CRAWFORD b.10/30/1901 Livingston Tn. died 1972 Belding Mich. Married a Ruby ROBINSON b.4/2/1902 Livingston Tn. died 12/1997 Belding Mich. NOTE-Ellis MACDONALD} Ruby's parent ? After 44 years I finally found my biological father>Gentry(Sam) D. CRAWFORD. He never knew I exsisted til Sept 1997. Anyway thats why the names are not the same.
