- EUDAILY, EUDALEY,
SMITH posted by Joy
HOBBS on Friday, April 3, 1998
- SMITH/EUDALEY/EUDAILY surnames. 1860 Ov. Co. census shows
these household members. SMITH, Andrew-49, Sarah 44, Logan, Issac,
Mary, Landon, Willis, Richard, and EUDAILY, David, Sarah. Does
anyone recognize these unusual given names for their SMITH line?
I think this is likely a 2nd marriage for both Andrew & Sarah.
Any leads are appreciated.

- CARPENTER, MARSHALL,
SMITH posted by Sue
Smith McLEAN on Wednesday, April 29, 1998
- Overton County Query - I'm researching an Abner CARPENTER
b. ca. 1781 in VA, lived in Overton County most of his life,
moved to Mason County IL about 1845, where he died 4/22/1853.
He married, about 1815, a Mary MARSHALL b. 1796 in NC. She was
part of a large MARSHALL family in Overton, and was probably
the sister of at least George, John, David and Elisha MARSHALL,
who all went to Mason County IL at the same time as Abner and
Mary. Abner and Mary CARPENTER had a daughter Nancy Jane CARPENTER
b. 11/1817 (and Abner had a total of 15 children). Nancy married,
in 1834, George Nettles SMITH of Jackson County, son of Jeremiah
and Diana SMITH. George and Nancy lived in Overton from 1834
through the 1850 census, when they, too, moved to IL (having
a child there in 1852), then moving on to Missouri/Nebraska with
the rest of the CARPENTER clan. Does anyone connect with any
of these people?
