PATRICK, TAYLOR posted by Jim NEWLAND on Friday, October 16, 1998: Seeking information about Hardin Gray PATRICK and ELIZABETH TAYLOR believed to have married in Overton Co about 1845. They are shown on the 1850 Overton Co census, H-164 F-164 with Taylors living on both sides of them. He apparently chose to use his middle name, their household is listed as: Gray Patrick 26 M Laborer TN Elizabeth " 22 F IL Benjamin " 4 M TN John " 1 M TN Phiba(?) Taylor 67 F NY This family with the addition of a daughter, Tennessee age 8, is listed in the 1860 Overton Co census; but nothing is heard of them after the civil war. The two sons Benjamin & John died in Barren Co, KY 1932 & 1923 respectively. The information on their fathers first name came from their death certificates as did the name of their mother: Elizabeth Taylor.

MARTIN posted by Bob TUCKER on Friday, October 16, 1998: J.A.MARTIN was my g-grandfather. I need to find his parents and/or his wifes, Elizabeth, maiden name. Currently the search is a process of elemination. They were living in Putnam Co. (1860 census) as newly weds. By 1863 they were in Mulberry Gap, Hancock Co., where he left his family and went to war and no trail of him since. However, his wife and family were accounted for in 1870 & 1880 census, still in Hancock Co. I'm sure of MARTINs in your area, but no lead at present. Thank You----Bob Tucker
