Jeremiah (Jerry) BROWN (1844-1839). He was the second husband
of my great grandmother Eliza Ellen (CLAIBORN) EVANS. We believe
that she is the woman in the picture with him
|
Jeremiah BROWN married my great grandmother after they were
both widowed and he helped her raise both my grandmother and
her sisters as well as my mother and her siblings after their
parents died. He served during the Civil War as part of the Union
Infantry - 7th Regiment, Tenessee Mounted Infantry. He and his
first wife Lakey LAWSON (1845-1896) are buried in a family plot
on top of a hill just off of Highway 127 south of Static. Eliza
Ellen CLAIBORN EVANS BROWN is buried in Campbell Chanute Cemetery.

This portrait is of my grandparents. It is a composite that
was made from separate pictures of each of my mother's parents
so that the children would have a picture of their parents who
both died young. My grandmother died in 1929 and my grandfather
a year later in 1930. The original was given to my mother's younger
sister who was only three years old at the time of their father's
death and the family wanted her to be able to know what her parents
looked like. My mother was the next to youngest, being only six
when her father died.

Lanie Emaline Robbins RAINS and Billy RAINS. Does anyone
know who the children are?

Can you identify these people? I know for certain that the
woman in the bottom right-hand corner is my great grandmother,
Mary Ellen Robbins ROBBINS.
A local man wonders if some of these people may have been REAGANS

I got this from my grandma Edith Robbins SMITH's collection
and it could be from the collection of my great grandmother,
Isabelle Smith Hinds SMITH
