Hatfield Cemetery is located at the base of Walden's Ridge on East Valley Rd. Go north on highway 127 across Signal Mtn. (Walden's Ridge), about 1 mile from the base of the mountain take a right hand turn onto East Valley Rd., Hatfield Cemetery is 1.8 miles on the left. The Cemetery is in very good condition and well maintained.


We have done our best to record the names and dates of the individuals that are buried in this cemetery as they appeared on their markers but mistakes can be made. **The History of Hamilton County and Chattanooga Tennessee, Vol. 1, by Zella Armstrong, Pub. 1931, p. 268, Chapter: Cemeteries, states the birth date for Sarah E. Hatfield as being April 18, 1856. There are two differant double markers for John and Sarah Hatfield in the Hatfield Cemetery, both markers state that Sarah H. Hatfield was born April 13, 1836.

Sarah Emaline Hatfield, daughter of Jonathan Hatfield and Jane 'Jiney' Gulley, wife of John H. Hatfield, Sr.


2/26/15 - Mrs Sarah E Hatfield - Dunlap, TN, Feb 25 - Mrs Sarah E Hatfield, 77 years of age, died at the residence of her daughter. She is survived by one son, one daughter and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held by the Rev. Holder, of Bridgeport, AL and the body was interred by the side of her husband, a confederate soldier, in the family graveyard.
