The Lone Oak School Walden's Ridge, Sequatchie Co., TN The Lone Oak School was located in the community of Lone Oak when this section of Walden's Ridge, Signal Mountain, was still part of Hamilton County. The first school was a small, log building located close to where the Hamilton and Sequatchie County line now is. This small log school burned in 1875 and a new, wood frame, clapboard sided, school building was erected further west at the present site of the Lone Oak Community Center. These pictures show the old clapboard school in the background as well as some of the students that attended. - G. S. If you can identify anyone in the photos, please let us know Webmaster. |
