McWilliams Cemetery is located just inside the Sequatchie County line from Bledsoe County. It is in the shadow of Walden’s Ridge, overlooking the Sequatchie Valley. To get to this cemetery, from Dunlap, take Highway 111 to East Valley Rd. exit, go 9/10 of a mile North on East Valley Rd. and then turn left onto Kelley Cross Rd., McWilliams Cemetery will be 7/10 of a mile on the right.
We have done our best to record the names and dates of the individuals that are buried in this cemetery as they appeared on their markers but mistakes can be made. I have also left out the names and dates of the individuals that appear to be still living, out of respect for these families. G. (Hancock) and John McWilliams were my maternal G-G-G
Grandparents. Their son, Dan McWilliams (G-G grandfather) married
Mary Ann Graham (G-G Grandmother). Dan and Mary's daughter, Sarah
Elizabeth McWilliams was my great grandmother who married my
great grandfather, William Harrison Davis. William Harrison Davis
was buried in Hixson Cemetery where his
parents, Thomas and Rachel (Hughes) Davis (G-G paternal
grandparents) were buried. I don't know where Sarah Elizabeth and
her parents were buried so I keep searching. |
