Henrietta Dailey Makres

Henrietta Dailey Makres, 77, of Wise, VA, died Monday, May 4, 1998, in a Norton, VA, hospital. She was a native of Etowah, TN, and former resident of Chattanooga. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, the widow of Horace M. Abbott and Christopher Makres and the sister of the late Sue Weaver, R. B. Dailey, and Gordon Dailey. Survivors include two sons, Michael H. Abbott, Wise, VA; David Abbott, Atlanta; sister, Billie Jo Murphy, Etowah; brother, Ray Dailey, Kingston, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. George Dunbar officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Bordwine Funeral Home, Etowah.

James Wilson “Slim” Morrison

WALKER COUNTY MESSENGER August 23, 2004


James Wilson “Slim” Morrison of LaFayette died Thursday, Aug. 19. He was 88. Survivors include his wife, Roberta Stoker Morrison; daughters, Tina M. Harris, Bonnie R. Wilson, Mary Ann Stinnett, all of LaFayette; sons, Roger A. Morrison of Dunlap, Tenn., Carl L. Stinnett of LaFayette; brother, Raymond Morrison of Rocky Face; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services: Sunday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. in the Wallis Memorial Chapel of Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Bryant officiating. Burial: LaFayette Memory Gardens. Visitation: Saturday, Aug. 21, from 1-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
