WALKER COUNTY MESSENGER June 25, 2004
Mary Lizzie Dalton Newsome of Chickamauga died Wednesday, June 23, at a local nurs-ing home. She was 77. She was born in Walker County to the late John and Ocie Dalton. She was preceded in death by sister, Helen Dalton; brothers, Hubert, Dewey and John Dalton. Survivors include her son, Gordon A. “Bo” Newsome III of Sevierville, Tenn.; daughters, Mary J. “Judy” Newsome of Dunlap, Tenn., Candy Lynn Newsome Ford of Atlanta; brother, James “Punch” Dalton of Chickamauga; grandchildren, Ocey Newsome-Rogers of Asheville, N.C., Meghann Smith of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Luke and Dalton Newsome of Sevierville, Tenn. Services: Saturday, June 26, at 9:30 a.m. at Chickamauga City Cemetery with Rev. Hugh Glaze officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Adventa Hospice, 5959 Shallow-ford Road, Building 500A, Suite 505, Chattanooga, Tenn., 37421. Arrangements by the J.
