Rebecca "Becky" Shank of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Monday, March 20, at her home. She was 45. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and of the Baptist faith. Her father, Elwood William Shank, preceded her in death. Survivors include her mother, Charlsie Shank of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlsie and Alan Barnes of Hixson, Tenn., Debra and Dennis Francis of LaFayette, Carol and Bob Hansen of Hixson, Laura Shank of Dunlap, Tenn., Sandy and Ron Cummings of Falls Church, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jean Shank of Lurgan, Pa.; grandmother, Gertie Romines of Rossville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services: Thursday, March 23, at 1 p.m., at the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Mark Love officiating. Burial: Lakewood South Memory Gardens. Visitation: Wednesday, March 22, from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. Condolences can be sent at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com. Arrangements by Lane Funeral Home, Rossville.

Nelson Randolph Standefer, 65, of Route 1, Dunlap, died Wednesday morning, August 29, 1990, in Bledsoe County Hospital.  

He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.  Surviving are his wife, Hazel Sweatt Standefer; a son, Artie Standefer; a stepson, Robbie Lowe, both of Route 1, Dunlap; a daughter, Deborah Standefer of Gravsville; a step-daughter, Gail Lowe of Dunlap; a brother, Robert Standefer of Pikeville; two sisters, Sophia Brown and Ester Lee Turner, both of Pikeville; two grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.  

Services were held Friday, August 31, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Leonard Cagle and Rev. Raymond Davis officiating.  Burial was in the Collier Cemetery.  Bowers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

*Note: Nelson was born January 11, 1925, the son of Arthur Standifer & Mary Etta "Mollie" Collier Standefer.
