Stone Cemetery Sequatchie County, Tennessee

The Stone Cemetery was located in Marion County, Tennessee until an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee erected Sequatchie County in 1857, from parts of Marion, Hamilton and Bledsoe Counties of Tennessee.
Stone Cemetery is located on West Valley Road about 5 miles South West of Downtown Dunlap, Sequatchie County, Tennessee. This cemetery is a short ways off the road with an Iron gate at the entrance. There is an old fence surrounding the cemetery that is approximately 100 feet wide and 300 feet long with very large, old Oak trees scattered about the cemetery. The weather and nature are taking over this old cemetery and it is in need of some care. We counted 29 graves that were marked with just a rock or the markers had washed away enough you could not read them and there are some sunken places that could be graves that are no longer marked.
We have done our best to record the names and dates of the individuals that are buried in this cemetery as they appeared on their markers but mistakes can be made.
