John A. Enoch born in Smith County Tn. was the son of Simon D. Enoch and Ann Caplinger .
After Simon's death in 1836 the family moved to Williamson County Illinois. Where he join
the Union Army Sept 26, 1862 at Campt Butler, Illinois, Mustered on Nov 5, 1862.
