Sergt. A. W. Williams of Company H, 24^th Tenn Regt has borne The Colors of said Regt through the battles of Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge and has acted gallantly on other occasions.  I therefore ask he be appointed ensign for said Regt in compliance with an act of Congress approved February 17^th 1864 appointing an ensign to each Regt of Infantry.

 

            His age 24 years.  Residence Smith County Tennessee
