My Gr Grandfather John W. Minton was born 12/16/1856 between Carthage and Lebanon at across the road from a place called Sampson's Well. In 1860. Also born there was Eliza Jane and James Thomas. The family moved to Muhlenburg Co. KY in 1860 and after a few years ended up in Graves Co. KY. I know lots about the family after WGM, but nothing about his parents, siblings or where they came from.
