Seeking family history informaton on John Thomas Jones b. 1813 Wilkes
Co NC d. 1880 Smith Co TN. He married Elizabeth Ann Gibbs in Smith
County TN. The Jones and Gibbs families lived next door and were both

I am looking for information on my gggrandfather, William Bush, who
moved from Smith Co to Arkansas. I found William Bush on the 1830
Smith Co census and on the 1850 Carroll County, AR census. His son,
George Washington Bush, moved from Arkansas to Texas in the early
1870's.

I am researching Thomas B. Harris b. July 25, 1812 in North Carolina.
His children were Robert S. Harris b. 12-29-1840, Nancy Harris,
Sarah Harris, Harry M. Harris, Roxanna Harris, Cynthia Harris,
Lobitha Harris, and Elvina Harris. Sometime between 1840 and 1860
they moved from TN to MO.

I am looking for the gravesite of George Caldwell Berry who died
during his service with Company C 6th Tennessee Infantry, USA in
Carthage,Tennessee. He died May 23, 1863 in the Carthage area. Does
anyone know where this Union soldiers and others in his unit were
buried during this time? Anyone that could help me find his

Henry (or Thomas Henry) DICKENS was born around 1833 in Tennessee.
He married Eliza. Was her name SADLER or DILLARD? I have been told
it is SADLER but I found a marriage record to Eliza DILLARD on 10 Nov
1852 in Smith Co Tennessee. Henry and Eliza had Nancy, Riney
E.,Amanda, Harriet, Net, Mary J., John, and James. Nancy was born 17
Aug 1853 and the last child James was born around 1868. Nancy
married David Burton HARVILLE

Need info on Eliza SADLER, born around 1840 in Tennessee. She
married Henry (possibly Thomas Henry) DICKENS. Their children are
Nancy, Riney E, Amanda, Harried, Net, Mary J., John, and James.
Nancy was born 17 August 1853 and married David Burton Harville.
James was born around 1868. All children were born in Tennessee.

He married Dora T. Their son Andrew Jack was born 29 July 1842. He
married Delilah F. SADLER 24 March 1866. Andrew's name is listed as
CLACKSTON in one place. The CLAXTONs are found in DeKalb, Wilson,

James HARVILLE, born around 1783 in NC (no info on spouse)had son
David born around 1813 or 1808 in NC. David married Mary (no other
info on her except born around 1810 in NC). David and Mary had twins
David Burton and Burkett H born 22 Feb 1847 in Smith Co., TN. They
also had Reems Absalom,, Elizabeth M., Eliza (Elijah in one census),
Martha, and William J. David Burton married Nancy R. Lewis. Would
like more info on each of these individuals. If anyone needs help I
will give you the info I have. One census record says David Burton
and Nancy had 21 children which included 3 sets of twins, 4 children
died as babies. I have the names of 13 children.

Searching for any info on a Cal or Calvin ELKINS who fathered two

I am not sure if Cal and Sarah were ever married. Family says Cal

I would like to communicate with anyone who knows of or may be
researching Grinage ancestry. A number of Grinages relocated in Texas
in the mid 1800's who were born SOMEWHERE in Tennessee!
Joshua Grinage married Margaret Woodrum in 1867, Edmond Grinnage
married Nancy Bradberry in 1855 and Martha Grinnage married Thomas
Gates in 1848. Joshua, Edmond and Martha were born in TN as well as
most of their spouses according to censuses! All settled in Panola
County, TX. A number of Woodrum families lived 'next door'.

Reuben HALE was born 1802 in Tennessee. He appeared in the 1830
census for Smith County, TN. He married Lucy WEAVER. She died in
about 1835. Reuben moved to Sparta, Missouri and marrried Lucy's
sister, Martha (WEAVER) TAYLOR. I was wondering if Reuben had a
connection to Sparta, Tennessee, White County,TN, since he may have
been one of the first settlers of Sparta, Missouri. Could someone

I am searching for proof that JAMES TROUSDALE b. 1753 was a son of
WILLIAM TROUSDALE b. County Down, Ireland ante 1736. I found in the
"History of Smith County, Tennessee" on pages 305-306 that "William
died in "old Perkins place", now belonging to Robin Bellar..." I am
looking for either obituary, land records showing father to son

Looking for any information pertaining to Samuel C. FRASER (or
variant spellings). Moved to TN between 1812 and 1817 (unknown
location). He moved to GA between 1823-1826. He and his wife,
Bersheba, had one child born in TN - Samuel Carroll Fraser, Jr., b.

Searching for any information regarding John Franklin Moore
(1847-1917) believed to have been born in Smith County,TN. He
married Margaret Marshall Tunstall (1853-1938) on Jan. 17, 1871 no
record has been found of their marrage outside of the family bible.
The same is true of his birth. Any assistance would be greatfully

Looking for info or descendents of Martin WHITE and his wife
Elizabeth FREDERICK. Believe they were in Smith Co. ca 1840 census,
before moving to KY. Martin was born ca 1810-12,and Elizabeth was
only about 1 year younger. Their son Archibald WHITE married Anna
Manora OWEN, daugther of Ambrose OWEN & his wife Jane. Ambrose & Jane
are found in Smith Co. both in 1850 & 1860, he died in Todd Co. KY 30
Jan. 1886. Any info on these families would be appreciated.

I am seeking info about the ancestry of Jerome Thomas b. 7/14/1861 in
Smith, TN. d. 8/6/1932 M. Gillie Ann Burton. I cannot find his
parents. He is listed on the 1870 census living in the home of his
uncle William Thomas. In 1880 he is still in the home of William
Thomas listed as nephew and also in that household is Narcissa J.
Searcy Thomas listed as William's mother. On the 1910 census Jerome
Thomas is listed as a Jr. So was his father's name also Jerome? Any
help appreciated.

I am looking for decendants of the siblings of Morris Brown CLARK.
Morris was the son of Henry B. CLARK, and Martha Biggers HUGHES.
Morris' siblings were Frances m: John P. BURFORD, Seton T. CLARK m:
Tennie APPLE & Cynthia BREVARD; Lemuel B. m: Lydia Ann LEE.
Morris Brown CLARK m: Nancy Hughes RAGLAND in 1863. They had a
mercantile there in Smith Co. I have a picture of Seton and Tennie,
and one of Morris' wife Nancy but cannot fine pictures of Morris.
There was one known photo in the family taken with him on a wagon.
Unfortunately the original tin type had a flaw right where his face
was! Morris & family left Smith Co in 1888 to come to Fannin Co.,
Texas.
Other surnames married into this line are: FORD, CONDITT, BOULTON,
NICHOLS, ARMISTEAD, HOLFORD, JELLICOURSE, MCCORMICK, MCCLAIN, VOSS

info on Jacob Null & Jane Woven listed on 1850 Smith Co.census. Jane was b in NC.abt. 1792. I would like to know

I am looking for any information on Daniel Davis, born approximately
1834 in Tennessee. His wife's name was Mary Jane, maiden name
unknown. By 1880 they were in Arkansas and had 3 children Virgina age
11, Andrew age 5, and Laura age 2.

I am looking for any information on John HARVEY Sr. He bought land
from a Henry W. LAWSON in 1802 in Smith Co. TN. He is listed on the
1820 census for Smith Co. with what I believe to be his sons Bennett,
John Jr., and William HARVEY. Bennett received a land grant in 1815
in Smith Co. and John Jr. bought land from John ORANGE near Brush
Creek in 1819. Bennett (born 1790) and his wife, Benter or Beneta,
later moved to Tishamingo County, MS. Bennett is my 4-ggrandfather. I
need any information about this family. Bennett was born in TN
according to the 1850 census in MS. Anything will be appreciated.

I am looking for the burial place of John Stanton Gill and his wife,
Elizabeth (Bettie) Hale Gill. John Stanton Gill (son of Thomas Brown
Gill and Nancy Mills Gill) was b. 7/18/1825 in the New Middleton,
Smith County, TN. area. Married on March 16, 1853 to Elizabeth B.
(Bettie) Hale (daughter of John B. (Jackie) Hale and Nancy Barnett
Hale). John Stanton Gill died on October 29, 1895 in Smith County
(Grant/New Middleton Area ?) and his wife died November 17, 1904. I
have been unable to locate their burial place or where they lived in
the area. I do know the farm where John Stanton Gill grew up in New
Middleton but no grave markers in this family cemetery for these two.
I have records for 7 children for them: James H. Gill; Nannie P.
Gill; John Hale Gill; Thomas (Tommie) Stanton Gill; Lu Ella Gill;
Dollie Gill; Robert Bridges Gill. Does anyone have any information
on these two?
