THOMAS-Looking for information on the parents of Hiram, Lewis and Humphrey THOMAS who arrived in Smith County just after 1800. These three brothers lived on the border of Smith and Jackson Counties near Jennings Creek. All left Smith and Jackson Counties by 1830 for Southern Illinois. Humphrey returned to the newly formed Macon County in the 1840's. Any information on this THOMAS family would be appreciated.

THOMASON - I am currently researching the genealogy of the Thomason family of DeKalb and Wilson Co., Tennessee. The earliest I know is John M. Thomason who was born in Tennessee around 1805. John M. married Charity Angaline ?. These two are found in Wilson Co. in 1850. In 1870 they are in DeKalb Co. They had three sons that I know of; the oldest is Thomas Lindsey Thomason who was born on November 18, 1825 in Tennessee. Thomas moved to Butler Co., Kentucky between 1850 and 1860 he had two children in Wilson Co., and the rest were born in Butler Co. Thomas Lindsey married Armetta McCullough in Wilson Co., the date is not known although. The next child is Also J. Thomason who was born in 1834 in Smith Co., Tennessee. Also J. served in the Confederate army during the Civil War. I believe he died during the war. The youngest child is Alvis who was born in 1836 in Smith Co., Tennessee. Willing to share and would appreciate any assistance.

WEBB - I am looking for info on John WEBB, b/1825 in TN. He married Louvisa SMITH, daughter of Hugh and Ann SMITH of Jackson Co.,TN. John WEBB only appears in the 1850 Smith Co. census, then there is no sign of him in 1860. In 1870 Louvisa SMITH and children are in Iron Co.,MO. Family history says that he left home and went back to Ireland, but the census said he was born in TN. Does anyone know of this family?

George is on the 1800 Federal Census in Wake County, NC, but family at some point relocated to Smith County, TN, because George's will is probated there ca 1811. Four sons, James B. Crowder, John J. Crowder, Green Crowder (my gggrandfather) and Ransom Duke Crowder, also four daughters, two of whom married men named Wade, another married a McDonald. Am very interested in George and Lucy's parents.

After Dolly died remarried to Sally (Snoddy) Dooling Henry. George had 5 children. My GGrandfather (third child of George) was William Pinkney Sampson. Born Horseshoe Bend, Smith County, 1872.
