William Trousdale
Governor of Tennessee 1849-1853
William Trousdale was born to Revolutionary War Patriot James Trousdale and wife Elizabeth Dobbins on 23 Sept 1790. As much a patriot as his father, he answered the call to arms for the War of 1812, for the Seminole Wars, and for the Mexican War. He served as American Envoy in Brazil from 1853-1857 before retiring to his home in Gallatin where he lived until his death on 27 Mar 1872.
