Ruth Ann, the daughter of William H. and Emily Jane (Perry) Mason, was a petite and gentile little lady. Though there is no proof, she was reputed to have been of Dutch descent. She was a devout member of the Union Hill Baptist Church, and a kind and loving mother.
Her husband, Haywood, had the reputation about their neighborhood as a talented fiddle-player. He was the son of
George Dallas Moses Gregory and Mary Ann Eunice (Hughes) Gregory.
