David was married (1) to Elizabeth Ferguson, and had three sons, James born 1790; Robert, born 1793; and Ephraim, born 1795. David married second Elizabeth Oglesby daughter of Elisha Oglesby and his wife Mary Bryan. Children of David and Elizabeth (Oglesby) Pursley are listed in this Bible Record copied from the Bible of Daniel Oglesby who lived in Macon (earlier Smith) County and moved in 1856 to Obion County, Tennessee. Donated 1950 by Reelfoot Chapter D.A. R. Union City, Tennessee

N.B. this researcher notes that Mrs. Box gives the first name of the two wives of David Pursley as both being Elizabeth and previously in the Bible Record she had stated the first wife was Jane.
