NOTE:
Hiram known as "Harm" by his descendants
was a Disciples of Christ, or "Campbellite" Preacher and attended Lilly
Dale Christian Church, Lilly Dale, Tennessee. He did not fight in
the War Between the States and thus arrested to be drafted and taken to
Greenville, Tennessee. He was later released when it was proven he
was a preacher. [Minnie Hoyle Arnold, York, Pa. 22 Apr. 1980. Hiram
had a stroke and died at the age of 74 years, 5 months, 10 days. Dave
Hoyle, son of Jeremiah (Jerry), and grandson of Hiram, was with Hiram in
the barn collecting eggs when he had the stroke. Dave ran down to the
house and got his father, Jerry who carried him back to the house and
Hiram died.

OBITUARY: " Mrs Edna E. Allen 76 died at
the home of a son, Willard, on Saturday at 8:00 P.M.

Bull of Little Bighorn; Sold herbal treatments to local residents of
Erwin; He was stabbed in the abdomen by a fellow resident and sent to the
Erwin hospital to get stitched up during which time he encountered a fight
with his physician. Subsequent to the brawl with the Dr.,
Police placed William Harrison in jail where he was allegedly beaten by
police. Near death he was transferred to Johnson City for treatment
where he died shortly thereafter. Erwin sympathizers collected money
to pay for his burial and tombstone. Photo is available at ETSU, box
