Grainger County, TN 1797 list of insolvents
living within Indian lands.

Union County formed in 1850 from parts of:
Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Grainger and Knox Counties.

Since Union County was formed relatively late, I thought this data from earlier in the same area may be of help. This came from lists I copied at The Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne IN. The second largest genealogical library in the country, I'm told. (I believe the term insolvent was used to denote persons without title to land. Maybe you would know.)
