M. 25 Nov 1830 in Wilson Co., TN, to Merritt Caraway, b. 1802 in Moore Co. NC., son of Moses Caraway and Mary Merritt. D.1863. Buried in Lewis Merritt Cemetery, Wilson Co., TN. Nancy Burdine Sherrill d. 27 Aug 1935. Issue;

Louis (Lewis) Sherrill, (son of Archibald Sherrill, and Nancy Elizabeth Anderson) and some of his descendants

The following information was recorded by W.A.S., 29 Oct 1967. It was obtained from Hazel R. Hopkins, great-grand daughter of Louis and Eliza, 1850 Census of Wilson Co., TN., Harriett Tant, whose ancestors they were, Family Bible belonging to William Sherrill, Gladeville, TN, Wanda Clark, and Hazel Hopkins.

7.1.3A.4. Louis (Lewis) Wesley Sherrill, son of Archibald Sherrill and Nancy Elizabeth Anderson, was b. 1812-1820 in Wilson Co, TN. He was m. 5 Oct 1842 in Wilson Co, TN, to Eliza Burns. She was the dau. of (?) Burns and Eliza Potts. Eliza Burns was b. 1822 and d. 1901-2 at a daughter's home in Nashville, TN. Mr. Sherrill d. 28 Feb 1869 in Wilson Co., TN. Issue:

1. James Payton Sherrill, b. 13 Aug 1843 in Wilson Co., TN. m. 21 May 1868 to Sara Lucinda Thomas. D. 3 Oct 1925. Buried Spring Hill Cemetery, Davidson, TN.
