     Harlo was born on 2 January 1874 at Decatur, Adams County, Indiana.1,2 He was the son of Joseph E. Mann and Louisa Catherina Kiess. He married Aurora Agatha Cook at Adams County, Indiana, on 2 April 1899.

Be it remembered that on this first of April, 1899 the following marriage license was issued, to wit: State of Indiana, to wit: Adams County, SS.

To all who shall see these presents, greeting: Know ye, that any person legally authorized to solemnize matrimony, is hereby licensed to join in marriage as husband and wife, Harlow Mann and Aurora A. Cook, and for so doing this shall be his sufficient authority. Witness, John H. Lenhart, Clerk of the Adams Circuit Court this first of April, 1899.

Be it further remembered, that on this third of July, 1899 the following certificate was filed in my office, to wit: State of Indiana, Adams County, to wit: This certifies, that I joined in marriage, as husband and wife, Harlow Mann and Aurora A. Cook on the, second of April, 1899. Ralph C. Jones, M. E. Minister.

Harlo V. (sic) Mann Dies Late Sunday Night
     
Funeral Services Thursday Afternoon
     
      Harlo W. Mann, 80, well known retired farmer of Root township, died at 11:30 o'clock Sunday night at the Berne nursing home. He had been seriously ill since Friday.
      He was born in Root township Jan. 2, 1874, a son of Joseph and Louisa Kiess-Mann, and was married in 1897 to Auora (sic) Cook, who died Nov. 4, 1940.
      Mr. Mann was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
      Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Florence Grossman of LaFontaine and Mrs. Louise Egan of Holland, Ind; four sons, Roy Mann of Rosemeade, Calif., Carl Mann of Ossian, Clifford Mann of Decatur, and Wilson Mann of Monroe; 24 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, John Mann of Decatur and Dr. Frank Mann of Rochester, Minn., and four sisters, Mrs. Lulu Vance of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Ethel Grandstaff, Mrs. Nettie Singleton and Mrs. Verna Sprague, all of Decatur.
      Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Zwick funeral home the Rev. John D. Mishler officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock Tuesday evening.
