     Lurana was born on 4 September 1849 at Indiana.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Abner Wiley Hoggatt and Mary Chamness. She married Jesse Ballinger on 11 December 1869.1 She married Aaron Benson on 11 November 1875.1 Lurana died on 8 March 1899 at age 49.4
     She had no children, but raised 6 orphans, including her sister Mary Effie and her brother Isaiah, after the death of their mother in 1875.
