     Catherine was born on 22 April 1859 at York County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 She was the daughter of John Singleton and Margaret Worden. She married William Walter Mumma at Adams County, Indiana, on 24 April 1879.

Be it remembered, that on this 23rd day of April 1879, the following marriage license was issued, to wit: State of Indiana, to wit, Adams County, ss. To all who shall see these presents, greeting: Know ye, that any person legally authorized to solemnize matrimony, is hereby licensed to join in marriage, as husband and wife, William W. Mumma and Katie R. Singleton, and for so doing this shall be his sufficient authority. Witness B. H. Dent, Clerk of the Adams Circuit Court, this 23rd day of April 1879. B. H. Dent, Clerk, J. F. Be it further remembered, that on this 26th day of April, 1879, the following certificate was filed in my office, to wit: State of Indiana, Adams county, to wit: This certifies, that I joined in marriage, as husband and wife, William W. Mumma and Katie R. Singleton, on the 24th day of April 1879.

.4 Catherine died on 4 April 1912 at Benton Twp., Paulding County, Ohio, at age 52.

Funeral of Mrs. W. Mumma
     
      Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Mumma, widow of William Mumma, were conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the Pleasant Grove church, east of this city the funeral procession driving across from the late home at McGill, Ohio, a distance of sixteen miles. Her death occurred Friday morning from Bright's disease. Mrs. Mumma was born and reared in this county and was a sister of William Singleton of Root township. She is survived by the following children: Clarence, Clark, True and Flossie, of McGill; Dallas, of Gideon, Mo; Nora, married, and living in Illinois. The family resided in this city several years, and also lived on the old Mumma farm until it was sold, moving about fifteen years ago to McGill.

     Catherine were listed as household members living with John Singleton in the 1860 Census at Peach Bottom Twp., York County, Pennsylvania.8 Catherine were listed as household members living with John Singleton on the 1870 Census at Union Twp., Union County, Ohio.3 Catherine was listed as William Walter Mumma's wife on the 1900 Census at Union Twp., Adams County, Indiana.2
