Gerald was born on 12 July 1908 at Preble, Adams County, Indiana.1,2 He was the son of John Curtis Grandstaff M.D. and Ethel Sedillo Mann. He married Phyllis Cora Kosht on 19 February 1926.3,4,5,6 Gerald died on 17 August 1978 at Decatur, Adams County, Indiana, at age 70.

Gerald J. Grandstaff
Gerald J. Grandstaff, 70, of route 3, Decatur, a Root Township farmer for many years and former employee at the local General Electric Co. plant and the Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne, was dead on arrival at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital.
He was stricken at home and death was attributed to a heart attack.
The Adams County resident was a former machinist at GE and was a machinist and lead operator at Dana when he retired.
He was a member of the Mr. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
Born in Preble on July 12, 1908, he was the son of Dr. John C. and Ethel S. Mann-Grandstaff, and was married on Feb. 19, 1926 to Phyllis C. Kosht, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Gerald J. Grandstaff, Jr., Fort Wayne; Mrs. Fred W. (Donna) Fuelling, route 3, Decatur; Mrs. Joseph (Janet) Schindler, route 5, Decatur; one brother, Francis Grandstaff, San Diego, Calif; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Audrey Shaw, died Oct. 31, 1977, and two brothers, Dr. Floyd and Curtis Grandstaff also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. Joseph Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
Rev. Tillman Nussbaum will also officiate at the funeral services.
