My grandfather's name is John Roy Bartlett and he was a friend of Charles Goodnight. My grandfather owned the Dodge/Plymouth Dealership in Clarendon. He rented a house to Charles Goodnight. He also ran a grocery store and photography studio in Clarendon. I have a picture he took of Charles Goodnight and his 2nd wife that is now in the Panhandle Plains museum. The Bartletts and Scoggins both farmed land in armstrong county. My some of the scoggins names are as follows: Wallace Harper Scoggins, Maggie Hunt Scoggins, Harold, and Harper Hampton Scoggins. Marilyn Bartlett Scoggins and Harper Hampton Scoggins were my mother and father. Pat and Dorthy Bagwell were friends of my mother and lived in Claude, Texas.

QRYTEXT: Looking for information on "Red" Clark who used to "ride the range" in the Panhandle of Texas and possibly owned land there at one time. He married Nancy Davis and had two children Elbert b Abt 1885 and Estella Mae b Abt 1889. Red and Nancy both died suddenly while travelling through Van Zandt Co/Kaufman Co Texas in 1890. Nancy Davis Clark had previously been married to Unknown Lovell and had Ada, Emma or Amma, John, Joe, and George Lovell. Lovell relatives took in these children but no relatives of Clark or Davis found so Elbert and Estella Mae raised by unrelated families. "Red" Clark was a big, burly, red-headed man with military bearing, covered with knife scars. Nancy Davis may have been of Indian ancestry.
